The majority race in the U.S. until present has been Caucasian with ancestral roots from Europe, such as Britain France, Spain, and Germany. Being the "first" Americans were the Native Americans but when English settlers and Europeans began coming into America so did the Native Americans become the minority.

Other notable races in history include Hispanic, and African Americans. Hispanics derived from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and some from Cuba. While African Americans Ancestral upbringing into the U.S. was from Nigeria, Niger, Gambia and many more. Although many Mexican Americans were allowed more freedoms while still being discriminated against the African Americans ancestors were forced here. Both becoming a percentage of our country in the mid 1800 's Laws intended to discriminate Latino 's and African 's cultures consisted of unfair unjust laws like Restriction to land and denial to "mix" bloods. Far worse being for African culture had many discriminatory laws like they could not marry or meet a free African. Could not possess weapons or liquor, had curfews and could not testify unless it was against another slave. At the time these were considered "slave code".

Laws such as Civil Rights Act, Employment and Disability Discrimination Act Defined new ways to prevent public, and institutional discrimination. Civil Rights Act was aimed to diminish discrimination of race, ethnic, gender and in turn allowed opportunities such as removing segregation opened voting, and banned discrimination. These laws are adequate and help to diminish discrimination but only time to let society as whole change by becoming more diverse and tolerable of culture will the discrimination truly come to a halt.
