John is not that interested in learning about the bible and if it were up to him would not go. John only goes to make his dad happy. It saves him from even worse beatings. His dad does not truly love him like he does Roy so he does anything to please him. John isn’t interested in the teaching because they do not save him like they say. Everyone believes John is good and will become a priest but he is realizing he does not actually want that. Sunday School is a chore now and even though he goes his father will still beat him.
