Queens Goals Essay
For the past six years I have been working as a techno-functional professional in the IT services sector, where I deal with various aspects related to IT project management. My goals have gradually evolved through my experience in the IT industry. In the short term after completing MBA I envision myself in a position where I lead the team that works on planning operational goals and strategies for an IT organization. In the long run, I would like to rise to an executive position in the organization where I head either the organization or one of its strategic business units.

I began my career in the IT industry with eClerx as a financial analyst. After a year and half I moved on to Accenture where I started working as a software engineer. By virtue of my ability to quickly grasp the intricacies of the project that we were executing for Barclays Bank, within a few months I was promoted to a senior software engineer. A year later I was made a ‘team lead’. As I demonstrated responsibility by taking up new initiatives in my role I was sent to UK at the client site to learn various operational processes first hand. At Tech Mahindra too I was one of the team leads selected to go Netherlands and work with the client KPN. This role presented me the opportunity to assume greater responsibilities in overseeing other people's work. I currently supervise the development of a broad band network based business application as well as train and assist my colleagues on multiple projects. So far I have had the fortune of working in India, UK and Netherlands. My ability to integrate easily in foreign communities has provided me with the confidence to anticipate and even enjoy challenges abroad – a capability that could only benefit my future endeavors. While my experience has given me a good understanding of the IT services industry, what I lack are skills in business management. An MBA would be an effective forum for garnering such skills. What I also expect from an MBA is

Were Queen Elizabeth I and Catherine the Great effective rulers? Were their reign's characterized as good or not so well? Disregarding the opinion of those who reigned concurrently or historians today, these two ruled their country in a time of turmoil and uncertainty! The world and the people within it were undergoing a major transition. New lands were being discovered as well as major role-playing continents and countries were changing status. Some losing power while others gained it. Queen Elizabeth I and Catherine the Great ruled their country to the extent in which they were able and their subjects allowed them to. Queen Elizabeth I of England was a remarkable ruler. Elizabeth was born in 1533 to Henry VIII of England and took the throne in 1588 at the age of twenty-five and reigned until 1603 when she passed away (Sowards, 28). Elizabeth was the last of the Tudor Dynasty (Upshur, 465). Due to her father's uncontrollable hap-hazardous rule, Elizabeth, at only the age of twenty-five, was already faced with dilemma within England. Henry VIII wanted a male to take over his throne so when he felt his time was running out, Henry VIII needed to divorce his Queen at that time but the Catholic Church doesn't allow this. He separated from the church and brought England with him. He turned England into a protestant nation. Needless to say people were confused and had to make huge adjustments. At the beginning of Elizabeth's reign there was confusion. She was a firm Catholic however she made a compromise between the two religions. Queen Elizabeth's decision was due largely from the consent of her people (Upshur, 465). However, Elizabeth knew that two religions would cause problems. "As reestablished, the Anglican Church was protestant in it's Theology, but much of it's ritual and ecclesiastical organization remained Catholic in form"(Upshur, 465). Elizabeth believed that loyalty of her people would bring them together as well as the country. The people were not forced by…

Through “My Last Duchess”, Browning exposes the innermost characteristics of the Duke of Ferrara. The Duke is the speaker of the poem and is hashing out the details of another marriage with an emissary from a Count when he draws a curtain to reveal a magnificent fresco of the Duke’s Last Duchess. The emissary voices a question about the expression on her face, an “earnest glance” of “depth and passion” (line 8), prompting the Duke’s monologue. Looking upon the artwork, the Duke praises “Fra Pandolf’s hands” which worked “busily a day” (lines 3-4) to create the masterpiece. Then he tells the emissary, every stranger whom he honors with showing the painting “seemed as they would ask me, if they durst, / how such a glance came there” (lines 11-12).…

I assume it all began with my grandmother. Starting at 4 years old, I would watch her battle with her illnesses and always want to offer a helping hand. As a matter of fact, I never anticipated being a nurse, I constantly say nursing discovered me. It was all confirmed once I began clinical in nursing school; that’s where my compassion for ministering to the ill found a place in my heart so deep it gives me butterflies. Throughout achieving my Associate’s Degree at St. Paul’s School of Nursing I have learned that nursing is not just treatment of disease with medication and procedures. It is a work of the heart, a combination of knowledge and compassion, and the gift to deliver it in a way that most benefits the patient’s and their families. It must have been all the restless evenings and hopeless days I…

Knowledge in the area of business is very important for any administrator or owner of a business because it is a key to success for any company in competitive environments. When I started to study business in the university I thought that if I have only a university degree in business can be enough to manage any company. I studied the administrative process, administrative theories, finance, accounting, marketing, cost and human resources. My classmates and I thought that this knowledge was enough for a business manager. However, leading a company requires a technical knowledge in different administrative areas. The companies are very complex and they work in highly competitive environments, their costumers are very demanding and require high-quality goods and services. Although some students and professionals think that a university degree in business is enough to manage a company, in my experience I found some evidences to demonstrate there are benefits to study an MBA.…
