1. What is QoS? Why QoS is important and how QoS is measured? 2. What is management of QoS?
-------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------
Answers:
1. What is QoS?
In telephony field, quality of service is a service that covers all aspects of necessity in the use of telecommunication service. The necessities include service response time, loss, signal-to-noise ratio, echo, interrupts, frequency response, loudness level, and so on [1].
In the computer networking field, QoS is defined as the ability of the network to provide a service at an assured service level [2]. In Internet, QoS is a technology that acts as additional support to the best-effort service in handling data transfer during load congestions and superiorly response to more problems, such as latency, corrupted files, lost connection, jitter, out-of-order delivery, data loss or insufficient bandwidth [1,7]. QoS provides priority to different applications, users or data flow based on the load service requirements, and network conditions to ensure that the most important data reach the destination first.
QoS also provide high-quality support for IP voice and video services, improve the service provided in low-speed access devices (e.g. Internet mobile wireless devices), and provide differentiated Internet access service to client with different service-quality levels at different prices [5]. QoS can be differentiated, that is, QoS provided in the network can vary with load conditions [6].
Assigning the priority is actually the network administrator’s duty. QoS enable applications to signal service requirement to

The need for computers of networks with guaranteed quality of service is widely recognized today. Unlike todays best effort networks like the Internet, where the user has no guarantee on the performing it may expect from the network, Quality of service networks guarantee the end user application a certain level of performance. Jitter measures the fluctuating of delay of packets in the given stream for packets, which is an important property for much application. Ideally, packets should be delivered in a completely periodic fashion; however, even if the source establish an evenly spaced stream, unavoidable jitter is displayed by the network due to the different queuing and propagation delays, and packets reach the destination with a wide range of inter-arrival times[36]. We need to achievement the QoS with the best performance thus the suggestion to combine two algorithms, the first algorithm simple switching spanning tree, and second algorithm multipath and must be using the Queue to set in switching. The first method design to learning the all switches about the location of the host in switch and then avoid any loop by using some codes, and second method design to send the packets to all path to decrease the…

Analysis – The basis of service request SR-kf-10, submitted by Yvonne Reynolds, is a thorough analysis of current network infrastructure that should result in documentation outlining current network reliability and uptime, overall performance, topology, protocols, data integrity and security, and overall network security. The analysis effort will be directed toward determining if performance, specifically at checkout, can be improved and, if not, outlining and documenting the requirements and strategy necessary to improve performance, security, and stability. A critical component of the success of this effort is the structure and expertise of the project and analysis team, and the reporting relationship…

About.com defined QOS as a board collection of networking technologies and techniques. About.com also states the goal of QOS is to provide guarantees on the ability of a network to deliver predictable results. Both email and VoIP are bandwidth hogs if you don't use QOS on your network it will literally bring your network to a crawl if you aren't using codec’s to compress and QOS. A good way to eliminate this problem is to add VLAN’s. VLANs help prioritize the network traffic by separating…

Doverspike et al. (2009) have created a set of internal protocols that help create a QOS scenario to allow IPTV signals to be delivered in an acceptable fashion. Pick any two of the author’s techniques and show how...…

The criteria used to evaluate and select a WAN provider will vary from company to company. While cost may be the most important factor for one company, reliability may be the deciding factor for another. Enterprises should choose a WAN provider based on the criteria that are most important to them include the extent of services and technologies offered by the provider, the geographical area covered by the provider, best network access for each application flow, maximizing application performance, continuity and network usage, takes into account the end-to-end characteristics of each available network (quality and bandwidth) to decide in real time the best access for each application flow quality parameters like network delay, jitter and loss, as well as the available bandwidth. Evaluated in real-time, these criteria are weighted according to the type of application flow: voice will usually look for the fastest path while email may prefer the largest…

    I. I NTRODUCTION In conjunction with the useful growth of Internet, multimedia and real time services, Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology has been proposed to perform this ambitious task. LTE uses orthogonal frequency division multiple access (ODFMA) in the downlink. OFDMA divides the frequency band into a group of mutually orthogonal subcarriers, thereby improving like this system capabilities by providing high data rates, supporting multi-user diversity and creating resistance to frequency selective fading of radio channels. The quality of service (QoS) of LTE must be satisfied by giving users the optimal…
