Because this disorder is a dominant autosomal, the unaffected woman would have a recessive allele. Crossing the two, these would be the results. They had a child that would be FH, as descripted.

ANIMATION NOTES
Restriction enzymes bind/target to specific DNA sequences
As they bind to the DNA sequence, the restriction enzymes cut the sugar-phosphate backbones of the DNA
EcoRi is a restriction enzyme
EcoRI cuts unevenly and leaves “sticky ends”
The “sticky ends” attach to ligase, which catalyzes another chemical reaction that connects the DNA backbone

INSTRUCTION NOTES
When using the pipettors, never go pass the upper or lower limits
Set the necessary volume by turing the rings clockwise
Place the tip on the discharge end
The plunger will stop at two different places
The first stopping point is the initial resistance; the desired volume of the solution will be transferred
The distance you have to push the plunger to reach the point of initial resistance will change depending on the volume
The second stop point can be found when the plunger is depressed beyond the initial resistance until it is in contact with the body of the pipettor
Depress the plunger until you feel the initial resistance and insert tip into the solution; a little below the surface of the liquid
Slowly release plunger
Discharge the solution appropriately
Depress the plunger to the point of initial resistance, wait one second, and then continue pressing the plunger as far as it will go in order to discharge the entire volume of solution
Press the tip discarder to remove it
Remember to change tips between each solution
