Punctuality and Correct Medical Aid
The saying which goes "A stitch in time saves nine" is very true!!!Punctuality is no doubt a virtue no man can afford to lack. It is the simplest and easiest to acquire but at the same time really needed to succeed in life.

Punctuality is the habit of doing things in time. It is a disciplinary force which contributes to the efficiency and success of both an individual and organization.

A punctual person is always a step ahead of others .He is able to complete his assignments and keep commitments which wins him the command and respect of all those who work with him .He becomes an asset and support in any field of life. He will be a sought after member of any organization for the respect he has earned by his reliability and sense of discipline.

Lessons of punctuality are introduced from the very birth of a child. Feeds are given punctually and so are medications. Schools , colleges also implement and enforce these in every possible way .Time tables, classes ,examinations all demand punctuality. A company which fails to deliver goods or services in time or is unpunctual in collecting dues is also bound to fail one day or the other. In hospitals on some occassions punctuality may make all the difference between life and death . Forgetting to give a medicine or injection on time may take a life! On the other hand bringing a patient and giving him the correct medical aid in time will save a precious life!History also shows how punctuality plays such an important role even in war. General Ney's unpunctuality ruined Napoleon and changed the course of European history.

If we study the lives of some great people we find that punctuality was one of the pillars of their success. Professionals like lawyers , doctors, teachers who have reached success are further respected when they keep their appointments and timely commitments . If we look around we shall see that sense of order and punctuality is seen in Nature too. The sun rises in the day , planets move in orbits,

Today, we use a common standard of time in our day-to-day lives. Sixty minutes in an hour, twenty-four hours in a day, three hundred sixty-five days in a solar year; but time has always been used to measure and record important events. This has never been more evident as it has been in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In this era of human history, punctuality is one of the key elements of our workforce, and particularly in the military.…

The dictionary defines punctual as: Acting or arriving exactly at the time appointed; prompt. Under the rigid and disciplined structure of military life there is no margin for error. The slightest modicum of hesitation or procrastination can result in the tragic loss of innumerable lives. There are many circumstances where a failure to be prompt could have dire consequences. Under certain circumstances not arriving for guard duty at the designated time could allow a breach of security that could ultimately end in the brutal murder of your peacefully slumbering, unsuspecting battle buddies at the zealous hands of our insurgent foes. Choosing an example from a different segment of the spectrum of responsibility, we see how a noncommissioned officer’s failure to release his soldiers in a timely manner can affect the combat effectiveness of the entire unit. If this leader’s long windedness results in a soldier consistently being released to go on shift without enough time to eat, the soldier may resort to eating junk food to prevent his stomach from reaching a painful, distended state. Over time these seemingly minor indiscretions on the part of this senior noncommissioned officer could culminate in the sum total of a malnourished, ineffectual soldier. Keeping in mind that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, the callused behavior of one leader can exponentially reduce the combat readiness of an entire unit.…

It is important to realize that it is necessary for those in the Armed Forces are held to a high standard. Punctuality remains and alwasy will be an extremely vital aspect of military bearing and discipline. It has a direct correlation to soldeirly appearance, combat readiness, mission effectiveness, and essentially every aspect of military life and responsibility. I cannot place enough emphasis on how important being on time constatly is. For instance; a soldier who is late or does not report at all to a place at the time ordered effectively compromises and diminishes the efficiency of which the task or mission at hand can be completed. In an extreme case a soldier who is not on time to relieve the current guard's post would cause the combat effectiveness and readiness of the unrelieved guard to be greatly reduced. This would be caused by fatigue, or lack of supplies, etc. Consequently the guard on post could be compromised and the security of the area or FOB could be breached. These things do occur, however, they can undoubtedly be avoided by merely, once again, being on time.…

In my own country, the cultural perception of time is different from U.S., especially the punctuality concept, and the pace of life. In my country, when you have a meeting at 10:00AM, this means that you could be there at 10:00AM, or even you can come a bit late such as 10:10AM, 10:15AM, … This will be no problem, the late is acceptable and everyone understands about it. They will wait for you and other people until everyone comes to the meeting, and then the meeting will be started right after that. But it is not the same in the U.S. in which the punctuality is very important. If you have a meeting at a specified time, this will be implied that you have to come to the meeting before the specified time. For example, if the meeting starts at 9:00AM, then you must be there in the meeting at 8:55AM or earlier. At the first time, when I came to the U.S., I still kept in mind the punctuality concept of my own country because I thought that there was not so much difference between American’s punctuality concept and Vietnamese’s punctuality concept. But I was wrong, this misunderstanding led me to miss some appointments and interviews. As a result of that, I have learned that in the U.S. we should always come earlier before the specified time.…
