Attention Getter: I will be asking my classmates from one side of the classroom to move to the other, and vice versa. I will ask them whether they feel weird, displaced and uncomfortable just by moving to the opposite end of the classroom? Then I will ask them close their eyes and imagine they 're running away from your country to flee war. Living a life where often their own government is threatening to persecute them? Why? Because you just wanted to save your life? And now you have no where to go, and have no protection. One woman is helping these refugees, comforting them in their discomfort, trying to make the change, and that 's Angelina Jolie.
Thesis: Today I am going to be talking to you about Angelina Jolie 's contribution to the UNHCR. Most people are not very aware of the horrid conditions of the refugees, however one very determined and powerful woman was adamant to change that, and took initiative in creating awareness. She was none other than one of the most powerful actresses of America, Angelina Jolie.
Statement of Relevance: Most people are not aware about the 43 million refugees who are struggling to survive. Furthermore, most people dont know anything about Angelina Jolie 's contributions as a goodwill ambassador to the UNHCR., and have a wrong perception of her.
Statement of Credibility: Angelina Jolie has been my role model ever since her association with the UNHCR. I have been monitoring her contributions to the organization for years as I too have a very keen interest in helping refugees.
