Introduction

Pre-assessment
In writing this assignment I hope to inform the reader about my learning experience. The context of my artistic practice in its broadest sense is experiential and my diverse cultural heritage informs my work in collage, multimedia and interest in performance. Therefore, I’ll be drawing from and reflecting upon my own lived experience, which includes my learning development and artistic practice.

I order describe my roles responsibilities and boundaries in terms of teaching and the learning cycle, I will be drawing from and reflecting my own lived experience which includes my learning development and artistic practice.

Growing up in a cross over period of technologies, I have incorporated many fields of artistic practice, and I have worked towards having the ability to facilitate learning.

To assist in the planning and development of a task or project the use of networking sites and blogs and other media packages, has allowed me to document and refer to and develop work.

In 2006, I was responsible for the project coordination of Barbados to Bath[1], which required me to communicate with 15 band members and others such as local councils in the planning and development of filming schedules. Using Microsoft programs and keeping a written diary helped with time management and also helped me remember contact details and all other information needed for the project to be a success.

Facilitation
I now also work with media programs such as Action Method[2] which helps me work effectively with diverse groups.

By incorporating blogs and other media packages, I can digitize handmade, practical and performance work, which, allows me to

Many artists enjoy exploring new ideas and concepts and creating them. Most artists think of themselves in one or more of the roles when approaching their art work. First, artists believe they are helping people to see the world in new and innovative ways. Secondly, they believe they are making a visual record of places, people, and events of their time and place (Sayre, 2009). Third, they are making functional objects and buildings more pleasurable and giving them meaning, and finally, artists believe they are giving form to immaterial ideas and things (Sayre, 2009).…

Developed from the philosophical perspectives of Maxine Greene, aesthetic education at LCI has been practiced since the organization’s inception in 1975. To date, there are few thorough scholarly attempts to articulate both the philosophy and practice of aesthetic education at LCI. Within the larger field of arts education, there is also a dearth of material written about the actual classroom practice of teaching artists—professional artists who work in educational sites, and who are often employed by cultural…

Exploring my identity through artwork as helped me strengthen some of my existing characteristics that I tend to use (political statements, birds and freedom) while helping me realize some of my others (how literature has affected me, my relationship with color, active imagination). This has really opened my eyes, and will help me in my art making process in the future by showing me that there is really no topic that I’m afraid of exploring, since in some simple or abstract way, I can find interest in it. There is no need for me to be scared of topics that I haven’t explored yet, and no reason for me to retreat back into the familiar. Art’s definition is the lack of concreteness and innovation, so you can interpret any topic in whatever what you choose. I believe that my art in the future will have much more diversity to it, as I now know that it’s alright not to know what to do, since amazing things can come out of…

The opportunity to majoring in the field of digital art sets the foundation for people such as myself who wish to contribute educationally, creatively, and globally in expanding the field of graphic design. Being fortunate enough to have been given a place in the American educational system, which gradually led to my interest and pursuit of graphic design, I am able to see potential in young students such as Mariam. Students who, when given the proper educational opportunities in the field of design can grow to contribute their own ideas and creative talents in the future. In conclusion, I saw myself in Mariam, a young girl with creative ideas and aspirations that seemed to overflow from her developing mindset. A young girl who went from drawing in mud to creating animations and characters on the computer. So while I hope to educate myself on numerous topics ranging from game design, to 3D animation during the course of this program, it is being able to take this knowledge and educate those around the world who share the same passion and ambition that ultimately makes the acceptance of this program fall on a personal…

Since I was old enough to hold a crayon, I have wanted to be an artist. The desire to create has grown exponentially with time, and so I attended the University of Iowa to expand my creative capabilities and learn from the work of experienced faculty and other students. Through my studies, I quickly learned a traditional fine arts education focused on technique. However, I learned the strength of my art resided in the conceptualization of my own story and emotions…

Since I am an international student from Taiwan, I am extremely excited to know that people from different cities and countries are going to join this community with cultures different from mine.…

People look at me and see my arms sleeved in ink and they say to me, “how can someone so feminine and beautiful destroy herself like that.” I share the drawings and the meanings behind my artwork and I start to see a whole new respect develop for me. My Tattoos are painful; from the needle poking directly into my arm to the sorrowful memories that the artwork represents throughout my life. Tattoos for me are a form of therapy, expression and art on the places of my body that I can constantly stare at daily. I want the drawings to remind me of the tough experiences I have endured, survived and conquered. I have chose to put my artwork in places that others may see so people will ask me what they mean because I believe that I can help people heal or just get through whatever struggles they may be going through by sharing my stories.…
