PTPTN (NATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION FUND CORPORATION) IS GOOD BUT THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THE VIEWS OF THE PEOPLE TOO. Wednesday, April 18, 2012
Now, The National Higher Education Fund Corporation) PTPTN is high on the air of Malaysia. People from all walks of life are busy discussing on PTPTN. Politicians play it as one of the national issues on the dawn of the 13th national election of Malaysia.
Personally I feel that The National Higher Education Fund Corporation) PTPTN is good and should stay. It helps the future of Malaysia, especially in term of having Malaysians of highly educated in all fields to realize the national Vision of 2020 and to move Malaysia as a sophisticated and high income nation. I salute the government of the day for implementing the PTPTN, especially to help the moderate and the low income groups. During my our university days and so are the parents of today, there was no PTPTN. We depended on scholarships. Failure to gain scholarship, meaning no university for you. Today, the PTPTN is there to help you.
The National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) should continue to help but at the same time, the government should listen to the views of the people of Malaysia on the weakness of PTPTN, especially to the borrowers. The people of Malaysia are peace loving people who want to help the government to move Malaysia as a sophisticated, world class and a high income nation. Since the implementation of PTPTN many parties have benefited. Many parties move to the education business. Private educational institutions are mushrooming from time to time offering courses and help to secure PTPTN. This is one of the possible problems that finally land the students or the borrowers to debts and bankrupt. As for those who have completed their studies in the IPTA or IPTS, some of them failed to get a job based on their qualifications but get the salary of RM1000 and below. Having that salary, a graduate needs to contribute to EPF and other
