Psychotic Relationship Report
From my own placement experience, an individual was experiencing a psychotic episode, whilst also being on the influence of ice. Antipsychotic drugs were used to calm her down for the purpose of alleviating the negative symptoms and reactions to her psychotic experience. I observed how this individual went from being confused, aggravated, and screaming to then sitting in the same place, eyes wondering, and drooling. She looked almost zombie like, with no self-determination or control. I acknowledge the positive effects of psychopharmaceuticals to help relieve symptoms for individuals to help better cope with daily activities and to help reduce aggression (Naber et. al (2001), although from my observations, she appeared to be less human than
