Upon Shantaya arriving, and getting herself settled in her seat. Ms. Marcantoni attempted to review Shantaya’s new behavioral intervention plan that had been developed by the Behavior Specialist and Ms. Marcantonio.
Shantaya stated her grandmother had already told her about the plan and she continued to sit at the computer listening to music and ignoring Ms. Marcantonio. Ms. Marcantoni gave her three prompts to encourage her to get off the computer.
8:30- Shantaya says, “Kiss my tongue”, actually “Kiss my ass”.
8:30- Shantaya informed that appropriate language should be utilized. Ms. Marcantonio reviewed a list of videos and songs that would not be allowed in the school environment. Shantaya replied this is not an “F” ing, Bully free zone.

8:40- Ms. Marcantonio, reminded Shantaya, that in three minutes it will be time to go on I ready.
8:41- Shantaya sat with legs shaking, watching the computer, unresponsive, with her hands covering her face. Ms. Marcantonio asks, Shantaya, What do you want to earn?
8:43- Ms. Marcantonio gave Shantaya another prompt and reminded her that she has one minute until it’s time to start the Iready program. Shantaya starts crying.
8:44- Ms. Marcantonio, says Shantaya the time has come for you to start Iready. Ms. Marcantonio asks Shantaya, if she is ready. Ms. Marcantionio says, what do you need? It’s obvious you’re upset. I’ll give you another minute, and then one of the officers can take you for a break. Shantaya states, “I’m upset, you should just kick me out”. (Don’t wanna be here)
8:45- Ms. Marcantonio, tries to console her and encourage her to take a break. She also encouraged her to choose something to earn. Ms. Marcantonio, stated “Shantaya you have one minute”.
