One reason that I am so proud of my high school academic accomplishments, is because I struggled with my grades in grade school. Because of these struggles, I realized that I needed to work hard to obtain good grades. In high school, my work ethic helped me attain good grades and be nominated for the National Honor Society. According to the National Honor Society, only about…
I am very excited for the opportunity to be a part of the National Honor Society. I look forward to helping others in our school and throughout the community. I feel this opportunity would be great for both me and the community.…
To start off, as a potential member of the National Junior Honor Society, I’m very proud of…
Throughout my four years of high school, I have consistently pushed myself beyond my limits and comfort zones in attempt to discover my place in the world. I spent most of first two years discovering who I was as an individual, ultimately manifesting into inspiration for success. I grew out of “fitting in” and decided to turn my life and aspirations towards a greater direction; on this road of discovery, I separated myself from those who valued arrogance and indifference. “Nerd Squad” is what I am a part of today, which is why I am currently confident enough to apply for the National Honors Society Scholarship. I believe I have grown into a tenacious, sympathetic, and joyous young man that the entire school has seen develop, and I am honored…
The National Honors Society recognizes students who have great leadership skills, strong character, and who have a great desire to serve their community. I believe that I demonstrate all of these attributes. I work very hard to do well in school, I continue to serve in leadership positions in the community and I strive to be an individual…
The four pillars of the National Honor Society; scholarship, leadership, character, and service are the four qualities of a well-rounded individual. They have not only embodied who I strive to be, but have helped me achieve success and impact throughout my local community and my time as a national honor society member. Scholarship has helped me define not only who I am as a student, but has helped me prepare for my future. Without my drive to maintain my academics and pursue knowledge, I would not have discovered my love and passion for teaching. This newly discovered passion has helped me narrow down my future career, special education. Service, has helped me develop one of my individual characteristics, as I now understand the importance…
As quite the introvert, I never would have imagined myself as the secretary of such a renowned organization: the National Honor Society. However, I had decided to take on the challenge of running for board, requiring me to give a speech to our 500+ NHS members. My strengths did not lie in public speaking or persuasion like the other candidates. Instead, my speech involved me singing Mulan’s “Be a Man,” using ingenuity and humor to win over opinions. I believe that pushing yourself into an unfamiliar situation is the best way to learn and grow, as this approach demands problem solving and innovative thinking. NHS has pushed me to be more outgoing and active in the community by giving me the privilege of leadership, and I would definitely serve…
In all of the horror of standing up and speaking in front of a crowd of thousands, I had finally reached the zenith of my juvenile existence and ascended into adulthood. The next day did not even matter, as I had achieved a victory that no one could take from me. However, I did still want to win that office, and it eventually came time for that almost dreaded moment of the big reveal of who would be the next North Carolina State Senior Beta Club President. Moreover, the minutes prior to the big reveal seemed like hours and I could feel my heart racing; but suddenly the moment had come and out of left field I heard my name announced as the next State President. Then I was overtaken with a jubilant attitude that I had never felt before and complete awe seized me as I could barely get out my acceptance speech through my ecstatic emotions, and it was during that weekend that I experienced the marvelous feeling of reaching…
As a candidate for membership I feel that I already possess the academic requirements for the prestigious, National Honor Society. I possess most of the traits necessary to be in a member and I am willing to learn and adapt to every situation that I am faced with. I maintain high academics while working up to sixteen hours a week for the business my mother and father run. I also volunteer, with my father, to help the disadvantaged and the elderly maintain their homes and lawns. I attend cheerleading practice for two to three days a week and practice softball, workouts…
The National Honor Society is a group of students that exemplify the traits of leadership, character, citizenship, and intelligence. It is crucial that the future members of this organization exhibit these characteristics to the best of their abilities. For a great majority of my student life, I strived to perform these traits to my utmost capability, aiming to become an excellent example for my fellow peers. Throughout my high school career, I have been on the honor role for every quarter thus far. I feel deep pride and satisfaction in my grades and scholarly accomplishments, for they are a visual example of the hard work and large amount of effort I put into my studies. Although I not acquired any formal leadership positions, I exert my leadership abilities by example. In my classes, I often…

The National Honors Society is more than just a honor roll, but an organization that recognizes the efforts made by hard working high school students. I would like to join National Honors Society because it would challenge my development in both my community and my school. The National Honors Society, consisting of over one million students, would make me a part of a large community that could create many opportunities for me in the future. A highly respected organization such as the National Honors Society is very significant to me. The scholarships and programs offered by this organization helps increase my ability to get the education that I desire that I might not have been able to receive due to the rapidly rising costs of college. Every…
I want to be a member of the Davis National Junior Honor Society because I am eager to give it all my best to be an outstanding leader. I believe leadership is a great thing to have in my life. It would make a difference in my life and other people’s. It would be an honor to be chosen! I feel that I should be one of them; I being in this program would show that I am not here in school for drama, gossip, etc. I am here for my education. Yes to have fun but not fun to where I would be low on my grades, if I see that my grades are dropping I try my hardest to bring them up, I will do whatever it takes to bring my grades up and that’s just what’s called hardworking! I am an honor roll student; I am intelligent and outstanding. I don’t like to follow; I like to be a leader. I think I am already a leader, at home I am. I have manners… who doesn’t? I am honest and respectful. I like to help on projects with staff and city year. At home I help my siblings with their projects; I also help my peers during classes when they ask me for help. This is a dream to me; I will stand to be a proud member of the National Junior Honor Society. So it would be an honor to be chosen it really would. I know that no matter what, I will make a difference.…

When I first received the letter inviting me to apply to the National Honor Society, my initial thoughts were of appreciation for the recognition of my hard work during this past academic year. To think of myself as a member of the NHS is an honor that could have a profound impact on my future. Over the past several years I have driven myself to become a much more motivated person. Along with achieving a GPA of 3.67, which is a personal best, I have also motivated myself to lose 35 pounds, which has helped me to have the self-confidence to take a more active leadership role in encouraging others to live a healthier lifestyle. To be considered a member of this prestigious organization is both an honor and a challenge to continue to improve both my body and my mind as I embark upon the journey of a higher education.…
