Protect Yourself Family From Sex Offenders Analysis
In “Protect Yourself, Family from Sex Offenders,” Rick Schneider takes the position that sex offenders should be observed at all times (PA 657-658). One of the hardest and sensitive subjects to talk about is about sex offenders. In America it could go two ways, either the convicted is sent to jail and that isn’t even enough for the family that is suffering because of the convict’s actions. It is very difficult to discuss the problems with the results of a convicted sex offender’s life out of jail because in some states they are let go like wild animals and the government doesn’t hear from them again. Sex offenders are morally wrong and ill hearted people who are given a second chance and many argue that they should serve the longest prison sentence of all convicts. Residents have to keep a close eye on these sex offenders so that they can avoid being the next victim of these sex predators. Rick Schneider appealed emotionally to his audience when he said he spoke to a victim of a sex offender and she said that she was beaten, knifed, and raped by a sex offender and now she has to sleep with a gun because she is afraid every night (Schneider 8, 657-658). No one should be going through this, it is wrong what this sex offender did to her and this is a reason why people should be aware and allowed to know every sex offender no matter how low they were charged. Sex offenders must not be allowed to be anywhere near a school zone, the last thing people need in their neighborhood is a person who harasses their children.
