Nationalism means to be proud of your country despite what it does, this can lead to ultranationalism meaning to hold your nation above all others. This happens due to people view their countries as superior to all others in all ways. For example nazi germany, hitler wanted to help germany out of the depression it was in. one of the more effective ways of this was to start war, and win. They proved that the germans were not to be trifled with, because of their dedication to their cause.
