Space Colonization is survival of the human race off the planet Earth. Unfortunately, at the rate at which humans are destroying the Earth we are going to have to find another life sustaining planet very soon. Resources on Earth will inevitably run out, thus ending our tenure on Earth (unless new/different resources are used, climate gets under control, there is not a nuclear war/fallout, etc.), and if we don’t have another planet ready for colonization or already colonized, the human race will become extinct.
