Pros And Cons Of Palyers
It is the belief of palyers that receiving or touching the Conference Tophy is a bad omen, and decrease a team’s chances of winning the Stanley Cup. Yet throughout NHL history, this seems to not be the case, as teams which chose to touch a conference trophy tend to go on to win the Stanley Cup approximately 50% of the time. In 2008, The Penguins elected to not touch the trophy and lost, a year later they touch/picked it up and won Stanley Cup. It makes for an odd scene, with the palyers gathering around the trophy instead of celebrating their accomplishment.
