Pros And Cons Of Drinking Age
Drinking age – to lower or not lower? Everyone seems to have an opinion and is weighing in on this hugely debated topic. This issue has become a national debate with supporters on both sides. Some say the legal age should be eighteen because that is the legal age a person can join the military to fight for the freedoms we are afforded every day. Additionally, a person can register to vote and be charged as an adult for criminal activity at this age. Others believe consuming alcoholic beverages at an early age increases the risk of addiction, causes adverse effects on the developing brain, as well as, the consumer not being mature enough to handle to responsibility of drinking. Research supports why the drinking age should be eighteen
