Pros And Cons Of Being A Soccer Or Football Essay
Soccer or football is a sport that is played primarily with the player’s feet with the exception of the goalkeeper who can use their hands. The first game of soccer can be found back in 1858 in Melbourne Australia. Soccer is a tough sport to play so one has to know the position, rules, and have the know how to play. To play right back on a soccer team a person has to know when to move and where to move on the pitch. For example, if the ball were on the left side of the pitch on a team’s half a right back player would have to drop behind the center back for extra defense against the other team. Another example would also be if a player on the opposite team confronts the right back defending they would need to go up to them and have a defensive

Today, I heard about a participation argument over trophies being gave for participating in sports. They get a trophy for playing the sport when they did not earn it. Parents don’t realize what they are doing to their kids by just giving them things without and work or earning it. I myself am against the idea of trophies for playing a sport or something unless you or your team did earn it.…

According to research, many believe soccer had originated in Spain or Italy. Nevertheless soccer dates back to 200 B.C. in Ancient China. As a form of entertainment the people of the Han Dynasty had dribbled around a leather ball and shot it within a posted area (Toye). Much like china other countries had become involved in playing games similar to the modern day version of soccer. In Greece, two teams of equal players played a game called Episkyros. The players would…

Soccer has been around in America for over 200 years. It was brought over by English colonists, played more formally and rather brutally by colleges starting in the mid-1800s (Princeton and Rutgers played an inaugural intercollegiate match in 1869), and then given strong impetus, at least in our northeastern urban areas, by the waves of immigrants who brought their culture, including soccer, with them.…

I grew up in a family where I was constantly told “girls should not play sport”. It has been very challenging for me from a very young age but other people’s opinions never stopped me doing what I wanted to do. Instead of letting it have a negative impact on me, playing sports gave me the drive and motivation to set myself challenging but realistic goals not only in my performance but goals regarding my current life affairs. As I grew older I started questioning how humans are able to carry out certain skills and movements within sport. This helped me gain an interest in trying to understand how the human body works.…

Athletics is ingrained in the human experience and is an integral part of American culture. Because of that, many of my weekends and after school hours have been dedicated to either watching a game or starting one with the kids in the neighborhood. Athletics runs deep in my family. My great uncle was a professional baseball player and my family, including my father, three brothers and a sister, are all very involved with the various team sports. It’s this immersion into various sporting activities that has led me to the understanding that engaging in athletics has a very positive impact in our lives. Additionally, sports are extremely important in building one’s character through hard work, learning to work with others on a team and by learning how to cope with the joy of winning and the inevitability of losing.…

I remember when I was five, I would always attend my step sister’s soccer games during the weekend while at my dad’s. I would always love to watch but I was more of a hands on person. I have always wanted to play soccer but unfortunately it was harder to do for a kid, like me, when I had divorced parents that lived 40 minutes away from each other. It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

Soccer started in December 1863 in Britain and they used to call "Football". Many people would ask that when the first soccer match was and who was the organization and who invented the game of soccer. There are many arguments that some people saying that soccer starts at England and some saying China was the country where soccer was started. In my opinion, I was always believing that soccer did start in England but after my research, I found out that actually China and Japan are the first countries where they played with the ball and from there get the idea. According to todayIfound.com. "The earliest known record of a Soccer-like sport was in 1004 B.C. in Japan. There are also many references to Soccer-like sports in 50 B.C. China, even being played between teams from China and Japan. The Romans also played several types of Football games, including some that resembled Soccer". But I still saying that soccer was invested in England because when China and Japan start soccer was totally different Idea than the real soccer game. I agree that they are the first who start to kick the…

Even at the age of 8 years old, one soccer goal would be a great accomplishment for me and would help me move forward in life.…
