All around the globe, it was believed that the world could be a utopia; however, can that really be achieved? There has been a lot of controversy over this topic whether a utopian society is possible or not. A utopia is defined by Dictionary.com as any visionary system of political or social perfection. Each and every person is different and none are perfect, therefore a utopia cannot be reached even if the world was to drastically change. Although, it can improve and become more utopian like. Unity is another important contributing factor for a utopian like world. There must be trust and collaboration throughout the world to become one and unified. Everyone must work together towards a common goal and for the greater good and eradicate selfishness. The elimination of money (currency) could be one way to promote equality as well as for people to work together and work more diligently. They will not have to worry about bills or about financial struggles, as long as they work and contribute well they can be stress free. These people could have assigned or chosen jobs that they must fulfill so that they can positively contribute to society. In the book The Giver, the citizens we able to all survive when each played a role in society and contributed towards a common goal. The elders in the community also erased their emotions and took away colour from their society so that there will not be any emotional trouble or prejudice. (Lowry, Lois. The Giver. This is to promote peace and non-violent methods to keep order. Peace involves the freedom of speech and opinion, not to be punished for what one believes in. For instance, in The Hunger Games, anybody who defies or questions the authorities will be beaten or killed. The old man who went out of line and symbolized a fare well for the tributes was instantly taken and killed in public.
