The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield tells the story of a man who tries to learn and understand the nine key insights into life itself in an ancient manuscript that has been discovered in Peru. It predicts a massive spiritual transformation of society in the late twentieth century. We will finally grasp the secrets of the universe, the mysteries of existence, and the meaning of life. The real meaning and purpose of life will not be found in religion or in material wealth, but rather in things like auras. He comes across the insights in numerical order since that is how one must understand them. Overcoming an initial skepticism, the narrator's understanding grows with each insight. They include the following: 1. A Critical Mass. 2. The Longer Now. 3. A Matter of Energy. 4. The Struggle for Power. 5. The Message of the Mystics. 6. Clearing the Past. 7. Engaging the Flow. 8. The Interpersonal Ethic. 9. The Emerging Culture.…

Angel Gabriel in about 538 BC gives the Prophecy of seventy weeks in this text. The establishment of the kingdom of the Messiah would be in 69 weeks after the commanding of the restoration and building of Jerusalem. The word Shebua or week in the Hebrew language meant weeks, but all scholars come to an agreement that it meant four hundred and eighty three years, which is sixty-nine multiplied by seven. The Commencing of counting according to the text is in the year 458 BC, which is the seventh year of the King Artaxerxes of Persia. The king, during this year, issued an order that Ezra begin his journey to Jerusalem on the first day of the first month. According to current calendars, it would be 8th of April[1].…

“After these things”, after what things you ask? After a dialogue crammed tight with principles for the seven churches. John, had been transported to heaven through an open door. In heaven John received a revelation of “things which must be hereafter”. Hence, in considering Revelation 4, it’s revealed that all believers in Jesus Christ will be taken out of this world at the culmination of the church age described in the epic event called “The Rapture”. John is called up. In addition, I accept as true the calling up as symbolic of the Rapture. Paul declares in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 that believes shall be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. This word "caught up" comes from a Greek word, harpazo, (har-pad-zo) which means to "seize…

Revelation 20: 1-6 is the one passage of the Bible that directly speaks of the Millennium, which means a thousand years and refers to the reign of Christ. The interpretations of this scripture vary and can be expressed from three different prospectives, which include the views of premillennialism, postmillennialism and millennialism. The scripture, as documented in the King James Version of the New Testaments states:…

Self-fulfilling prophecies. What does that mean? Where could you find it? More often then not, one's life can be largely based on self-fuflilling prophecies. "A self-fulfilling prophecy occurs when a person's expectations of an event, and her or his subsequent behavior based on those expectations, make the outcome more likely to occur than would otherwise have been true." In other words, it means that if you believe that you are able to do something, then you are likely to succeed, whereas if you believe that you cannot do something, then you are more likely to fail. One self-fulfilling prophecy is when I was fifteen years old. I had always wanted to play guitar and had finally received one that year. I didn't have…

For such a beautiful piece with such soft lighting and rich color, Salvator Rosa’s Allegory of Fortune hardly seems like something created out of anger. A beautiful woman, wrapped in a golden cloth is shown feeding an assortment of animals. There is little in the painting that evokes the sort of emotion in the viewer that Rosa put into the painting; only after applying knowledge of symbolism does the viewer see Rosa’s angry, shaking fist.…

In reviewing Towns' article "ARGUMENTS THAT THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD", I found all of the information compelling, but what stood out the most was the empirical fulfillment of prophecy. I strongly believe that the bible is God's word, but the fulfillment of prophecies validates any ambiguity. Town's states "Christianity is the only religion that gives fulfilled prophecies as one of its bases for credibility" (p.4 ). That notation alone speaks volumes; other religions are waiting for prophecies to be fulfilled, while the Bible has already fulfilled hundreds if not thousands of prophecies.…

In answering Steve’s comment about the destiny of the unsaved certain definitions need to be dealt with along with reference made available to us and I have just what we need. Steve I understand what you have read and the comment was made from the standpoint of the author “Clark Pinnock.” However, if you will allow me to answer your questions in defining words such as; “Hades, Gehenna, Sheol, Eternal punishment, Annihilationism, Universalism, Hell and Apokatastasis. You also asked the difference between Hades and Sheol. Since we are dealing with Sotereology, Eschatology and Ecclesiology it is only fair that we reference the Word of God. Our definitions will come from Elwell Evangelical Dictionary of Theology and some citing from Towns, Theology for Today.…

Have you ever had your fortune told by a fortuneteller? I have. Thrice. It all started when I went to Quiapo with my classmates. At first, we roamed around the area, passing through several allies and passageways. We discovered varying stores selling different kinds of things ranging from fake diploma makers to army equipment stores to bake shops and to imitation stores. We then passed through the famous Quiapo Church, and finally caught a glimpse of the numerous fortunetellers spread across Plaza Miranda right in front of the Church.…
