Successful project managers can “head off problems that can jeopardize deadlines, budgets, and user acceptance.” Ironically, the gift of foresight also gives project managers the ability to recognize and maximize opportunities which help them increase their rate of project success and in their careers.

The same premise holds true when it comes to their careers: they are always improving themselves. Project managers often hold multiple project management certifications because their ultimate certification requires them to possess those certifications.
If you hold various credentials, you may find that other credentials satisfy requirements for obtaining other credentials. In doing so, multiple certifications can speed up the process of meeting your career goals. For instance, if your goal is to hold your PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) credential, holding a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) credential or a Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential will eliminate the need to have 2,000 hours of project work experience under your belt. You would only have to focus on meeting the requirements for your project management class and the 1,500 hours working on agile project
