Process of Washing your Car
How to Wash and Dry Are you washing your car or just damaging the paint? Cleaning your car should be a weekly thing, not just when you feel that your car is getting dirty or is already dirty. The up keep of your car isn’t easy either. You have invested many money and time in your vehicle. Shampooing, drying, and waxing are very simple tasks that will make your car sparkle all year a round. When you are washing your car should always find a cool shady spot to clean under. Once you have chosen the appropriate spot then you want to choose your rag or mitten and soap to clean with. Make sure the rag you chose is clean and without rocks or sand which can leave scratches. Start cleaning with the tires since those cleaning substances are more harmful then the car soap, you can always rinse these off as you clean the rest of your car. Once you clean your tires you start with the top of your car and work down. Starting with the top because the bottom of your vehicle is far more dirtier, you would just be spreading the dirt and contaminating the whole car if you start from the bottom. Make sure as you are shampooing you frequently, especially in hot weather, rinse your car to reduce water spots and drying of the soap. Once you have soaped up and rinsed off your car you would like to dry it immediately. Never skip drying! Drying your vehicle after washing is necessary to prevent water spots. Water spots are caused by mineral deposits that etch the outline of a drop of water into your vehicle’s paint. All water has minerals, whether it’s from the hose or the sky. As the water evaporates, the minerals remain on the surface and they will eventually, invariably create water spots. The best way to dry you car is by using a rubber blade which will not leave scratches and it removes 80% of the water on the car. After you use the blade to remove most of the water you can use a chamois or towel to get the rest of the water the blade couldn’t get. Dry the windows and mirrors

I make sure all windows are closed, and retract the antenna if the car is old. I start by hosing off the car to loosen the dirt and soften dried mud or bird feces. Try not to use a strong jet just yet, as this can rub grit over my paint and scratch it. I make sure to aim the jet stream in a downwards position on all surfaces. Aiming upwards around windows may cause water to dribble into older cars. I begin by soaking the natural sea sponge or sheep skin wash mitt in the soapy water, and be certain to wash out any dirt that maybe left in it. Then, I would apply and cover car soap all over my car. My way of washing my car is in sections, starting from top to bottom. I would circle around my car several times, washing lower areas with each round for maximum results. I make sure to keep the wash mitts clean, rinsing it out with the bucket of plain water frequently to prevent scratches on my car. After a section is washed, I frequently rinse it with the hose before moving on so the soap does not dry and stain my paint. As I progress, I try to keep my entire car wet, as this will prevent droplets from drying on to the paint and leaving water spots. I try to dry my car with towels before it air-dries. Now, we are ready to move onto the bottom section of the…
