We were drawn to the French Revolution because of an interest in King Arthur and the Round Table, particularly the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. The myth described how a lone knight dressed in green, challenged King Arthur’s Court to a game of decapitation. During that time, people were usually executed by hanging; however, nobility could choose to have a much quicker execution, by decapitation. After conducting research on decapitation, we learned that the method of execution evolved into a machine, the guillotine. The guillotine fascinated us, and because it was one of the most iconic symbols of the French Revolution, the civil war had our attention.…

The Process and design identifies the processes and the roles that are involved. Processes represent the operations performed by the system. Entities represent all the information sources of the system. We represent the entities and the processes in the data flow diagrams, DFD. While designing the DFD’s we increase the level of detail with each level. At each level the process divides into sub-processes until indivisible sub-processes are reached. Here is an example.…

Every wise man or woman to walk on the face of this Earth has known that there is a balance in the universe. For every good, there is an evil; for every virtue, a vice. For every dollar earned, there is a dollar spent, and for every moment spent working, the reward for that work becomes all the greater. However, if you are like me, you: a) believe that you must have done something terrible in a past life to have had to endure a punishment as brutal as George W. Bush's presidency and b) have fallen into the most basic trap of humanity, thinking that there must be a shortcut to success, at least in high school. So, if your thirst for high achievement is matched in strength only by your allergy to textbooks, join me as we attempt to break the rules of science and logic by trying to ace tests while becoming kings and queens of not studying.…

My process analysis paper can easily be compared to a Friday. The only thing that brings a kid more joy than a Friday is Christmas, so for my final Composition essay, my group and I decided to write about tips and tricks to getting people into the holiday spirit. The only bad part about Christmas, is the feeling everyone gets once it’s over. Christmas is “the most wonderful time of the year,” so once it’s over people are left singing the holiday blues. Friday only comes around once a week, which means if you don’t enjoy it, you might as well stay in school. Friday means the weekend, and the weekend means getting together with friends, and not thinking a single thought about school.…

Building a bird house is an easy way to pass the time if one is interested in this type of hobby. Although it is a fun and effective way to let your creative juices flow, there is one important fact that a person should know if they intend to actually have birds occupy their house. Different bird species prefer different living areas. For example, Robins don’t need a house at all; they only need a platform that they can build a nest on. With this knowledge, someone with the right mindset and the right tools can build homes for many types of birds.…
