Problems at Home
What issue or problem are you experiencing at home, work, or in your neighborhood that you feel strongly about?
What is your view on the issue? What is the opposing view?
Will a new policy, procedure, or law fix the issue?
Freewrite for 10-15 minutes. Share all of the reasons you can think of for why your problem needs to be fixed. Do not worry about grammar, spelling, etc. Do not edit. Write what comes to mind. Do not research yet. If you are stumped and cannot write what you know for 10-15 minutes, go back to #1 and start with a new topic.
Animal Cruelty is a big thing in our community because of the cock fighting and the dog fighting which is illegal and cruel to animals in our small town we don’t have a police department so the stuff keeps happening so nothing is being done about I feel we should get a small neighbor watch crew to watch for these things so we can catch these people in the act doing these crimes so we can get the township too get a police department in the next town to come and crack down on them. The only down fall is that our town is afraid of these people doing these things so wont step up to form this task force I speak of therefore I took it upon myself to form this task force so I can protect these animals that are being abused and give them the life they deserve not to be beaten and fighting to their deaths. I feel having this task force the police will be more stricken on these laws being broke by these people this is what the outcome will be when I completing this

Freewriting is a good first step to take when approaching a writing assignment because it brings out ideas and creativity in a short period of time. I will definitely use freewriting as part of my writing process. Not only will it help me with “writers block”, but it will allow me to be more creative and inspired with my thoughts. No need to waste time editing, formatting, and organizing-just jot down thoughts and ideas. There is no wrong or right way to do it. It is another form of brainstorming, but on…

In English 1A I am beginning to understand how to enjoy writing. One fatal flaw I previously had in my writing process was that I tried to write the near final draft the first time, it was a slow and tedious process, that made my despise writing. The tool I used to overcome this is freewriting- being able to just throw out hundreds of words in short amount of time with ease is such a relief when it comes to write an assignment like these. Plenty of my free write words don't ever make into my final paper, but just free writing with no limitations is actually fun. I recall how enjoyable it was to write for the genre paper. The genre paper did it feel like work and I managed to create many great ideas. Freewriting is also useful because the lack…

In today’s society there is a fine line about what is considered cruel and what is not. Hunters do not believe what they do as cruelty to animals, whereas a non-hunter would say it is indeed cruelty. There is not one form of animal cruelty that is considered worse than another. All forms of animal cruelty needs to be addressed. This organization can help everyone to understand what is considered animal cruelty and what is not. ASPCA can help individuals in a professional setting to spread the word about animal cruelty and the steps that companies or individuals can do to participate in fighting for animal rights. Giving a company and their employees the opportunity to participate in an organization as important as the prevention of animal cruelty can, and will help the company grow as well as helping the…

We all have an idea of what animal cruelty is but how much are you truly aware of this harmful abuse? Everyday animals are being beaten, neglected, and forced to struggle for survival. They are sometimes left in unsanitary conditions with no food or water, they have little hope as they live their days without the compassion they deserve. Some are found and rescued given the chance to experience how great life and humans can be; others aren't so lucky. Animal abuse affects us in many ways: it’s bad for our animals; it affects not only the animal but those who witness it. These animal abusers are criminals. To grow as a nation we must fight for these abused animals’ rights. It is up to us to speak for the animals that lack a voice, who will, if we won’t?…

Then, sit down with a blank sheet of paper and a pen, or a blank word document or w/e, and just write about that topic, free handed. Don't stop to think, just keep writing for 60 seconds. If you can't think of something to write, just write squigglys on the line or something, just anything to keep your hand moving. This will help because your brain associates thinking, atleast for research papers, with your hand moving/writing. After you do this for each topic, stop and read them back. Whichever one sounds the best, and/or sounds like you could really expand on it, use that…

Throughout the history of the United States the administrative offices made decisions on issues that affected a wide range of domestic affairs. These issues relate to activity in the borders of our nation. Domestic policy covers areas such as education, environment, health care, taxes, social security, and many other life and political affairs. Some people contend that the federal government should hold a strong role in these domestic issues. Others point to the rights of the states or private sectors to handle the various issues. Racial discrimination, living conditions of the poor, and stricter laws for immigration constitute three areas of political issues dealt with in various levels in the government system throughout…
