Career Plan Building Activity: Reasoning Aptitude
Reasoning aptitude was an interesting assignment. In order to find out my aptitude, scenarios were presented that would later determine my reasoning aptitude. The study says, Focused – shows your work well in careers where success comes from applying practical skills and where thinking is used mostly to solve practical problems. You are likely to be attracted to very practical jobs and careers. This is spot on. Jobs that do not have any practical problems that need to be solved are boring and I lose interest quickly. I enjoy positions where my skills are used daily solving issues that were maybe overlooked or may be too complex for someone else to handle. This keeps me intriqued daily and wanted to work to complete the task.
The results tell me that my individual thinking style is innovating, strategizing, taking initiative, adapting to change, and organized. Which I find all to be true. When I think of ways to solve problems, I have to be organized and have all of the information so I can strategize successfully and think outside of the box or be innovative. My thinking style definitely influences my approach to arguments because I think before I react which helps me to organize my thoughts and strategize before I argue. My opportunities were following instructions, logical thinking, cooperating, writing, and researching. I would have to agree to a certain extent. There are some things that do not interest me, so I would do whatever it took to get the job done even if that means not following the instructions through to completion. Researching is also not a strong point especially if I am uninterested in the topic. If it is something I am passionate about, I will research and provide a thorough report.
In my career persuasive communication will definitely help. In customer service management, I have to

By completing the competency assessment it helped me analyzed the result, my strengths are: following instructions, adhering to values, organizing, delivering results, coping with pressure, and cooperating. By appropriately following instructions from others without unnecessarily challenging authority will improve my critical thinking skills. Adhering to values, is another strength of mine. In critical thinking I should not take what I hear or read at face value, but weigh up the evidence and consider the implications and conclusions of what was said. “There is nothing more common than evaluation in the everyday world but for sound evaluation to take place, one must establish relevant standards, gather appropriate evidence, and judge the evidence in keeping with the standards” (Russell, 2013). Part of critical thinking is evaluation, to be able to evaluate an evidence is needed. I am an organized person, I can gather all information needed to evaluate something for critical thinking. Another way in applying my results is through evaluating arguments. Coping with pressure is one of my strength, because this, I should be able to see arguments from different point of views. “Reasoning is generally seen as a means to improve knowledge and make better decisions” (Sperber, 2011).…
