Pro-Choice of Abortion
Pro-Choice of Abortion
A big controversy throughout the United States is about abortion and whether or not it should be illegal. People who are against abortion are called pro-life. Supporters of abortion are called pro-choice. Both sides have very strong and argumentative points and can even start disputes between friends. A couple of ways that abortion can be seen as a good thing is that nearly all abortions take place within the first trimester of the pregnancy, teenage mothers will most likely not have a good future, and every woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body. I believe that every woman has the right of choice which makes me pro-choice.
Nearly all abortions take place within the first trimester of the pregnancy. Within that time, the fetus cannot exist outside of the mother’s tummy. It is attached by the umbilical cord, and therefore depends on the mother’s health for survival. If it cannot survive on its own, the fetus is technically not a person yet, and being a living person is very different from the concept of human life
Teenagers who become mothers have a very slim chance of having a good future. If a teenage girl gives birth while still in high school, she will most likely drop out to care of the baby. They also might not have the support of their family and therefore do not receive the knowledge of how to properly care for the baby. The mothers would be forced to rely on public assistance and advice on how to raise the child. However, if they do marry the father, they might end up divorced and have to raise their baby as a single parent.
Every woman has the right to have control of what to do with her own body. The ability to have this control is critical to civil rights. If you take away a woman’s reproductive choice, it takes away a lot of a woman’s independency. If the government can force a woman to continue a pregnancy, can they also force a woman to become fertilized?
Legalizing abortion has been a big controversy

What is Pro-Choice? Pro-Choice refers to the belief that a woman has the right to abort a baby from her body. Most people do not know how they stand on this subject. Usually a touchy subject, it is often kept a secret. I did extensive research on this subject after my older sister got an abortion. At first I was upset by the fact that she did it but now I realize that it was her choice and not mine. I feel that a woman has the right to do what she wants to her body. If a woman does not feel that she can raise a child then she should be able to do whatever she wants. If a woman gets an abortion in a case where she cannot raise the child then that is one less child put into foster care. During this speech I will inform you of the background on abortion, the different types of abortion, and also the main reasons to be pro-choice.…

A pro-choice person would feel that the decision to abort a pregnancy is that of the mother's and the state should have no right to interfere. A pro-life person believes that from the moment of conception, the embryo or fetus is alive. In the United States about 1.6 million pregnancies end in abortion. Women…

One of the most controversial issues in the polls today is the right for a woman to choose whether or not to abort a pregnancy. People who call themselves Pro-Life feel that it is the government’s responsibility to preserve all life, regardless of concerns for the pregnant woman’s health, or for the quality of the life of the child. The Pro-Choice argument feels that a woman should have autonomy and choice when it comes to what they wish to do with their own reproductive system, as long as the choice does not harm others (abortionfacts.com). The reason it is important for a woman to be able to choose is because the lack of choice could lead to social and medical problems for the mother, health problems for the child, and a poor environment for the child to grow up in. Every woman has the right to do what they want with their body, and every child should be a wanted child. The majority of the arguments against the right to be able to choose are religious reasons against the termination of the potential for life.…

Every woman has the right to make any decision that involves her body. Our government has always respected the individual's right to privacy. A woman's reproductive system should not be regulated by the government. In the Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade in 1973, the decision to make abortion legal came in effect (Frohock 1983). Before Roe, many women that were pregnant were forced to weigh their respect for the law against their positivism that they were not ready to be mothers. Many women chose to break the law, putting there lives and futures at risk, and decided to get unsafe and expensive procedures.…

One of the most controversial issues today is the topic of abortion. For many years people have been debating over whether abortions should be legal or not. There are two sides to this debate. Those who are pro-choice, do not think that a fetus is a living human being yet with a right to live. They believe it is entirely up to a woman to choose what she does with her own body (Being Pro-Choice). Those people who are pro-life argue otherwise. They believe that abortion is wrong and should be made completely illegal. I am one of them people who are pro-life. Having an abortion is the same as killing another human. It is inhumane, it is a sin,…

Pro-life is when individuals believe women should not have the right to abort a baby, pro-choice is the complete opposite. Pro-choice is the belief that a woman has the right to choose the best choice for her personal health, future, and moral sensibility. In my opinion abortion should be illegal. Life begins at conception, therefore I view the termination of a fetus as murder. Taking away one's life when they have no say is murder. How can you withdraw an innocent child's life? A failed abortion can result to a severely handicapped child. How can you attempt to damage a child for life causing your child to come out intellectually handicapped? How can you deliberately kill a miniscule baby because you decided to not use a form of birth control?…

No one is pro-abortion, but many are pro-women and pro-choice, which is the idea women have the right to terminate a pregnancy. On the opposing stance, pro-life describes the belief that women do not have the right to abort a pregnancy. In an ideal world, everyone would practice safe sex and every mother to be healthy. Women who want pregnancies would become mothers and mothers who don’t wouldn’t. In reality though, abortions are not only necessary, but a medical and natural right.…

“Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus” (Lowenstein). Abortion is and always has been a very controversial issue. The above definition explains why the debate of abortion is so debatable. A much asked question is whether or not the unborn child is considered human or not human. Since I am pro-life, I consider the unborn to be human, not just an embryo. I believe abortion should be illegal because it harm’s the pregnant woman’s body, it is against some religions. There are other options besides abortions available, and I believe that abortion is the murder of a human being. Abortion should be illegal to protect the unborn fetus; however, the mother’s health is also a…

Women get abortions for many reasons such as for rape, teen pregnancy and health reasons. In 1973 the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade decided on abortion being legal for women to have the right to choose what they do with a pregnancy. Trying to make laws against abortion is not going to stop them; this just makes them less safe. The number of women who get abortions does not change when it goes from being legal to illegal, or vice versa. The only thing that changes is more women die. Every year, seventy eight thousand, women die from unsafe abortions. Nearly all abortions take place in the first trimester, when a fetus cannot exist independent of the mother. As it is attached by the placenta and umbilical cord, its health is dependent on her health, and cannot be regarded as a separate entity as it cannot exist outside her womb.…
