Princess Charlotte Research Paper
July 5th marks the christening of Princess Charlotte, who was born on May 2. In a historical celebration of this Royal occasion, Royal Mint unveiled the commemorative Princess Charlotte silver coin.

E! Online reports that as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with the Royal Family present their 2-month-old daughter on her christening on Sunday, a new £5 coin was released in silver to commemorate the event.

This commemorative coin tradition was passed on by Queen Victoria in baptisms of every royal baby. The coin symbolizes good health and prosperity which will then be blessed on the child's hands.

With harp-playing cherubims on each sides, a text was engraved in Lily font that reads, "To celebrate the christening of Princess Charlotte

"It is entirely appropriate that we commemorate this significant occasion with the release of a special coin, just as we celebrated the christening of Prince George." Royal mint sold a £5 silver coin in commemoration of the birth of Prince George in July 23, 2013 for £80 in silver, with an image of "the definitive Sovereign," St. George and a dragon engraved on the metal.

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will baptize Princess Charlotte at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Queen Elizabeth's estate at Sandringham, in Norfolk. Official baptism photographs will be taken by renowned photographer, Mario Testino.

"I am overwhelmed and honoured to be chosen to document this occasion and to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much," Testino said in a press release.
