Prince Royce Have you heard the name Prince Royce before? The amazing bachata singer? No? Well, Prince Royce is a bachata singer from Bronx, NY. While on stage, he is called Prince Royce. While you read this, some things you will learn about are his music life, his albums/songs, and his life. Royce was born on May 11, 1989 in Bronx, NY. He is the 2nd oldest out the 4 children. Geoffrey Royce Rojas is the name his parents gave him. He was born to his full blooded Dominican parents. He lived a happy life in his early ages. Royce’s parents are not strict like most parents today but his father was stricter than his mother. While in elementary school he took part in the choir, and he competed with others in the talent show. He won some of the talent shows.
At the age of 13 he began to write poetry, and at age 15 he started creating music to go with his poetry with his partner Jose Chusan, also known as “Jino”. When Royce turned 16, he started making music with his friend and producer Donzell Rodriguez, and Vincent Outerbridge, also known as “L Snipe & Vinney”. Age 19 he met Andrés Hidalgo. Andrés soon became his manager. Soon Andrés became his manager. Andrés introduces Royce to Sergio George. Sergio signed Royce to his label after he heard 3 of his demos.
Once Royce started producing music with his poetry, His mother supported the fact about what he wants to do with music. He developed the name Prince Royce when he looked up the word “Royce” to find out what it meant. He thought just the word “Royce” wouldn’t bring him fans. Royce meant king’s son or prince. He found out that it was a royalty name. “It’s just a name, and it won’t change how I act” he told his fans.
Royce loved different types of music but since he grew up hearing music from the bachata region, he began to write bachata songs. His favorite song was “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King. Royce decided to reinvent the song, turning it into a bachata region song. This was very difficult for him. He had to
