Primark Corporate Social Responsibility Essay
The policies of companies are relatively impacted by their corporate social responsibility. According to McWilliams and Siegel (2001:117) describe CSR as “actions that appear to further some social good, beyond the interest of the firm and that which is required by law.” A socially responsible corporation to consider taking a step ahead to embrace protocol and business rules that go above the slightest legal claims and commit to the benefit of its key shareholders.

Primark is a clothing retailer. Company founded by Arthur Ryan in June 1969. It is a subsidiary company of the ABF plc (Associated British Foods) group. The business evolved gradually and by 2000 there were over 100 Primark stores across Ireland and Britain, by 2012, Primark owned at least 238 outlets across Europe, Ireland and UK (Primark, 2015). According to a source of (BBC, 2009) an investigation were made and constitute TNS Knitwear ltd in UK was engage in recruiting illegal employees and paying them less than the minimum wage. However, Primark respond by saying "no excuses" for the workers treatment. (Sandison, 2008) footage was shown concerning few of India's penniless working high hours on primark cloths in slum workshops and homeless camps, Violating their corporate social responsibility. When an employer fail to pay his or her employees the level of productivity and commitment to serve the employer will be reduced causing lost for the employer. Due to exhaustion from the employees cloths produced are in poor conditions and delivered to stores for sell.
