Tupac Amaru Shukur was born June16, 1971 in New York City, New York. Born in Brooklyn under the name Lesane Parish Crooks, Tupac Shakur received the name with which he came to be known to the world from his mother which was in the Black Panther activist; Afeni Shakur, in tribute to Incan revolutionary Tupac Amaru. His biological father had separated from his mother before his birth, and his stepfather was imprisoned for armored car robbery when he was two years old, leaving his family to struggle frequently under conditions of extreme poverty. While a teenager in Baltimore, Tupac developed an interest in performance; eventually he managed to gain entrance to The Baltimore School for the Performing Arts, where he studied acting and ballet. Before he could complete his education, however, he was forced to relocate to California. Tupac Amaru Shakur Tupac Amaru Shakur was one of the most influential poets; slash song writers, slash actors, and much more than that he was an icon for all those who knew the harsh reality of “Thug Life” Tupac Shakur 1994. Before his death he accomplished more than any of us will in our life. During his short life, Tupac Amaru Shakur became a living symbol of his generation’s frustration and rage. As a rapper, his songs often depicted the misery, desperation, and violence of ghetto life. As a personality, he easily embodied the common street thug that spoke his mind and soul. As an actor, he was charismatic and very natural; he appeared in five films and was offered a chance at the big screen in a variety of personas. But Shakur never had time to realize any of these embodiments. The sons of political activists Afeni Shakur and Billy Garland, Tupac grew up a troubled child. His home life was unstable, and he ended up moving from one inner-city community to another. Because of that instability, Shakur sought to assert himself through gangs. By the time he was twenty, Shakur had been…
someone on these qualities alone. A person has no control of what others really think of them. Perhaps this is what makes prejudice so terrible, the fact that it happens without anyone’s consent or control, and it is impossible to diminish by yourself. In the novel Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck expresses prejudice profusely through the characters, Crooks and Curley’s wife, by revealing how it can cause a person to feel worthless, insignificant, and lonely.…
If none of these are similar to your "friend's" symptoms, then the "friend" in question has probably done enough damage to fit a Bad Friend Profile. These include:…
Polar bears, contrary to popular belief, do not poop at all. Their excretion is solely liquid, and this explosive process happens about once or twice a month. Just kidding. It is, however, very possible that it could be related to a yeti. The 1983 Barun Valley discoveries prompted three years of research on the 'tree bear' possibility by Taylor, Fleming, John Craighead and Tirtha Shrestha. From that research the conclusion was that the Asiatic Black Bear, when about two years old, spends much time in trees to avoid attack by larger male bears on the ground ('ground bears'). During this tree period that may last two years, young bears train their inner claw outward, allowing an opposable grip. The imprint in the snow of a hind paw coming over the front paw that appears to have a hallux, especially when the bear is going slightly uphill so the hind paw print extends the overprint backward makes a hominoid-appearing track, both in that it is elongated like a human foot but with a “thumb” and in that a four-footed animal’s gait now appears bipedal.[68] This “yeti discovery”, in the words of National Geographic Magazine editor Bill Garrett, “[by] on-site research sweeps away much of the ‘smoke and mirrors’ and gives us a believable yeti”.[69]…

In Sonnet 147, by William Shakespeare, the emotions and attitudes displayed in the poem by the speaker are most similar to those of character Ophelia from Hamlet. Ophelia and speaker of the sonnet both display characteristics of sadness for the loss of love, desire for the one that they did love, and similar attitudes of betrayal or deceit. Ophelia and the speaker show many similarities in the play and the sonnet.…
The word faeces is the plural of the Latin word fæx meaning "dregs". There is no singular form in the English language, making it a plurale tantum.[1] There are many colloquial terms for feces, of which some are considered profanity (such as shit) while others (such as poo, poop, number two, deuce, doodoo, dookie and doody) are not. Terms such as dung, scat, spoor and droppings are normally used to refer to animal feces.…
The person I interviewed was my mom. My mom is 43 years old. She works at Amerigas Propane Company as the front desk receptionist. When asked how life is different for teenagers today compared to then, she answered, “we worked and did chores outside, inside, or wherever. We didn’t backtalk or sass our parents or we would have gotten our mouths slapped. Once is all it took.” When I asked my mom if she would like to switch places with teenagers today, she said, “I wouldn’t want to. Life was much more simple back then.” I asked my mom if she could offer advice to teenagers now what would it be? She answered, “listen to your parents and your elders. They have experience and most of the time, they do know best. They love you and want only what’s best for you. One day, they will be gone and you will wish they were her to do it over.” I asked my mom where she would like to be in five years and she answered, “I would like to be out of debt and be able to stay home more often as a wife and mother.” The final question I asked was what her biggest accomplishment was and she said, “my children are my greatest accomplishment.”…
Technology has caused a great impact on the past generations and has probably affected mine the most. When the word “technology” is mentioned in a conversation I immediately form and image of the latest gadgets in overly-priced shops such as PC World. However, people often forget that basic things such as a wheel or a chair are part of technology. One could argue that technology has made people have short attention spans or over dependence. But all these are secondary to the threat of obesity. From 1980 to 2010 statistics have found that in the US obese children aged from 6 to 11 has increased from 7% to 18%. I believe this is due to laziness, diet and lack of sport. Many children go to fast food restaurants, such as Mc Donalds, regularly. Such restaurants are known to be unhealthy and addictive, furthermore the technology is the reason for the stores existence.…
“On the breast of her gown, in fine red cloth, surrounded with an elaborate embroidery and fantastic flourished of gold-thread, appeared the letter A.”- This, in truth, is a quote that sums up the main storyline in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter. At first glance, a book such as this is classified as a boring and difficult read due to the use of old, descriptive language and a plot that takes place long ago at the start of the New World. But, surprisingly enough, regardless of its difficulty, the book is actually quite intriguing once the plot comes fully into play, (and when you have a dictionary by your side to define every other word.) This story is an up and down rollercoaster containing plotlines of adultery, its consequences, and the overall difficulties that come with living in a strict Puritan society. Overall, The Scarlet Letter is the type of book your parents and teachers would tell you to not judge by its cover. And, in a way, that old saying comes into play in the story itself when people judge Hester Prynne by the letter A stuck to her chest for the whole world to see and gape at.…
