Pony Boy Curtis Speech
We are here today for the case of Pony boy Curtis. He is 14 years old out of his other brothers of the two people who died in a car crash eight months back. Yet he is also the youngest brother of Darrel, who they call Darry which is 20 years of age. Darrel had legal custody of Pony boy ever since the accident happened to their parents. Darrel works two jobs to provide for his younger brothers and himself. Soda pop, the happy go lucky middle brother, works as well. He is 16 going on 17 and a high school dropout. Pony boy has a lot to Now lets determine whether Pony boy has a stable home, his school, and whether he is well cared for or not as well as his behavior.

Now that the court has been introduced to the Curtis family, we are going to discuss his home. Because he is not in a great neighborhood, his home is a little rundown. I picture it being this way because for my understanding "the greasers" live on the wrong side of the

He has amazing grades until his two buddy's Johnny and Dally die. This happening to his friends caused Pony boy to be concerned about most thing. He is not able to focus on his school work. He is to reset his focus so he would be more influenced to his school work instead of what happen to his friends. High school teachers describe Pony as a majority compulsive student he has ever taught.

Pony boy, in my opinion, is well took care of. He has an enthralling behavior. He does not fight for fun or to just have anything to do. Pony is a fascinating child even though he has a lot to deal with. A child at 14 should not have to be tore apart from his family at such a young age. Tearing kids apart from their family at young ages can cause them to become depressed, change their behavior, and be more of a rebel than the sweet little angel they were

Did you know that most of the children in foster care suffer from mental illness. I think that children should be able to stay with their parents, because it’s healthier for them to be with their families. Children who grow up in foster care do not always receive the education they need to support themselves efficiently. When children in foster care age out at the age of eighteen many find it difficult to support themselves. Ponyboy is better of with Darry, because he is a good guardian, and it should be Ponyboy's choice to stay with Darry or go to the foster care system’. Ponyboy should stay with Darry, because he looks out for him. ‘If you get in a jam holler and I will get you out”. This quote supports my perspective, because Darry cares for Ponyboy and that's why he’s so hard on him. Another way this supports my perspective is that Darry doesn't like it when Ponyboy smokes. “Ponyboy Curtis put out that cigarette you know there’s no smoking in bed”. This show’s my perspective, because Darry saw…

The main character of “The Outsiders” was Ponyboy Curtis, the younger brother of Darry and Sodapop Curtis. Ponyboy is very unique from all of the other characters, they are all unique. He isn’t the tuff like Dally, the pet like Johnny, the leader like Darry, the silly one like Sodapop, the wisecrack like two-bit, or even the confident and arrogant one like Steve. Ponyboy is quiet, smart, young, and kind. One of Ponyboys obstacles in the book was his brother Darry, the leader of the gang. “I could tell it was Darry though - partly because of the voice and partly because Darry’s always rough with me without meaning to be. ‘ “I didnt mean to!” Darry shouted… “Thats all i hear out of you! Cant you think of anything?” “Darry…” Sodapop began, but…

The text states, "Johnny looked around, slapping his pockets nervously. 'We gotta get outa here. Get somewhere. Run away. The police'll be here soon'" (57). Hinton is insisting indirectly that Ponyboy is a hero. In several ways, Ponyboy has gallant moments and completes heroic deeds. Gallantly, Ponyboy was a hero to Johnny, mentally and physically, as a supporter after he killed Bob. Ponyboy showed his fidelity to Johnny when he ran away. He helps Johnny survive in an unfamiliar area with the deed of murdering a living person. Therefore, Ponyboy showed his allegiance to Johnny. As said in the text, Johnny is a shy boy looking like he is a lost puppy. Dally states, "'For Pete's sake, get outa there! That roof's gonna cave in any minute. Forget those blasted kids!' I didn't pay any attention, although pieces of the old roof were…

From reading the book it was pretty clear that Ponyboy had a rough family life. It is a huge part of Ponyboys growth realizing his family was the most important thing to him but hadn’t realized this until it was too late. Ever since his parents died he has been under the care of Darry. Ponyboy always felt like Darry never loved him because he could never please him. "He's as hard as a rock and about as human...he thinks I'm a pain in the neck. He likes Soda--everybody likes Soda--but he can't stand me." (Hinton 42) . If Ponyboy were to bring home B’s, he demanded A’s and if he got A’s he wanted his marks to stay that way. He felt like he was the one always hollered at band Darry doesn’t love him like he does Soda. Ponyboy had to realize that…

Darry and Soda had different points of view on how to interact with their brother Ponyboy. On page 2, the books states, “Soda’s never hollering at me all the time the way Darry is, or treating me as if I am six instead of fourteen.” From this quote, the reader is told that Darry treats Ponyboy differently than Soda. It can be inferred that Darry is more strict with Ponyboy while Soda may not be as strict. On the other hand, “Soda’s always happy-go-lucky and grinning, while Darry’s hard and firm and rarely grins at all.” (The Outsiders, pg. 2) This quote shows another example of how Soda is different from Darry because it shows Soda being more joyful and relaxed, but Darry is more stern and not warm. Furthermore, the way both brothers treat Ponyboy demonstrates Hinton’s theme that family is there to support each other at all times because both brothers clearly care about Pony but show it in different…

As stated before, the previous ban on horse slaughter in America expired in 2011 under President Obama. This ban made the slaughtering of horses in America illegal, however it still allowed horses to be shipped overseas to foreign countries to be slaughtered. This ban was never removed, it just simply expired. In 2015 a new bill to ban horse slaughter was introduced to congress. This bill is called The Safeguard American Food Exports Act, or (SAFE). This act would alter many acts such as the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act, making all horse parts unsafe. This act in addition would also outlaw the export of U.S. horses and horse meat bound for slaughter and human consumption. Horse meat is most popular in France, Belgium, Italy, and Japan.…
