A few GENOCIDES ORGANISED BY CPI(M ) IN WEST BENGAL
Kasipore-Baranagar Massacre of Maxals – (Aug 12 & 13 – 1971) – The 3 hours massacre was organised by CPM with the help of Congress. Toll 90 to 100
Sainbari Killing – (March 17, 1970) – Accused Khokon alias Nirupam Sen, Benoy Konar & Manik Roy alias Anil Bose among others, Toll - 4 members of Sain family.
Marichjhanpi Massacre, 1979 of Refugees from Dandakaranya by Jyoti Basu’s police – 36 people were killed in police firing,43 died because of starvation due to blockade,128 people died when police sank their boats, an example of Stalinist policy of eliminating opponents.
Bijon Setu Massacre (30 April 1982) - 18 Anand Margis were burnt to death by CPI(M) goons in broad daylight.
Suchapur massacre : (July 27, 2000), where 11 agricultural workers from Suchpur of Birbhum were killed in a gruesome manner because they demanded minimum wage rates fixed by the government from the CPI-M jotedars (landlords). six CPM leaders, including former zilla parishad member Nityanarayan Chatterjee and Ramprasad Ghosh, who was district committee member of the Birbhum CPM was convicted by Birbhum session judge.
Bantala , (May 30 1990)- 3 ladies, Renu Ghosh, Anita Dewan & Uma Ghosh of UNICEF and Bengal govt was returning after an enquiry on huge embezzlement of UN funds by CPI-M organisations within the South 24-Parganas district, were raped & killed by CPM cadres came out from their Bantala Rd party office. TOI reported that the attending doctors, found many signs of injury in their bodies. And their deeply injured vagina was bleeding profusely. There were biting and scratching marks on their breasts, too. And in case of one lady, a metallic torch was found inserted in her vaginal entry. It was an ordinary case – said Shewla da (Jyoti basu)
Barasat Kachari Maidan: (February 22, 1994) – Two people died after Police fired on congress members assembled for a meeting on kachari Grond.
