Political Skills As An Interpersonal Skills In Organizational Literature
Political skill is a concept defined as an interpersonal style that associates an ability to behave in a manner that can inspire confidence, conviction and authenticity to a social astuteness. Individuals that are politically skilled know exactly what to do in diverse social situations at work and they also identify correctly how to do it in a way that disseminates any hypothetically manipulative reason. Perrewé and Nelson (2004) believe that political skill is particular to relations aimed to succeed in organizations.
In addition, Pfeffer (1981) who believes that organizations have a political nature and for an individual to be successful some social skills are crucial, defines organizational politics as those activities inside the organizations

The networking ability provides individuals with the ability to position themselves well in order to generate and take benefits from opportunities. Individuals with solid political skills are proficient at developing and expending various networks of people. They are really good at observing others and are deeply comfortable in various social situations. Additionally, they can understand most of the social interactions and interpret precisely their behavior, as well as the behavior of the others, in terms of social settings. Socially astute characters are frequently seen as clever in dealing with the others. People with social astuteness in high levels have a precise understanding of social circumstances as well as the interpersonal exchanges in these scenarios.
Highly politically skilled individuals have the capacity and disposition to use social astuteness, interpersonal influence, networking ability and apparent sincerity, to achieve advantages from the organization, they are expected to experience less stress in the workplace as well (Ferris et al., 2005). This view is also shared by Perrewé and her colleagues (2004) that believe that political skills can be used to reduce stress and, therefore, improve the health and wellbeing of employees.
As it is aforementioned, considering the purpose of this study, with our first hypothesis we pretend to find out if political skills can differ according to sex, women and men. As so, the following is

    This article investigated the impact of perceived social stressors on job and career satisfaction. Additionally, the researchers sought to find out if political skills could attenuate the negative effects of social stressors. The purpose of the study was to promote a better understanding of social stressor-strain relationships. To find this out, the researchers mailed surveys to 2,000 alumni of a private Midwestern university. The alumni were randomly chosen and had graduated over the past 40 years. The subjects were informed that the purpose of the survey was to gather information on a wide range of work attitudes. Out of the 2,000 surveys that were sent out, 246 responded. Items on the survey were recorded using several different scales; 5-point scale, 3-item scale, 18-item scale, and 5-item scale. The results showed that social stressors are significant predictors of both job and career satisfaction. The researchers also concluded that individuals with high levels of political skill experienced fewer negative effects from social stressors. Therefore, those individuals are able to maintain higher levels of job and career satisfaction.…
