police officer
As little kids we set our minds to be who we want to be, but later in the future that sometimes change. When I was little I really wanted to be a teacher because I thought it was fun for teachers to pass out and grade papers. I never really took the time out to research and find out what a teachers job was about, but then I looked it up and realize that I was just joking to myself. Going on into middle and high school I was still confused on what I wanted to be, until I went down to a police academy and seen what was being done. These police officers were very serious about their job and their motives were to keep the crime out and put the good in people that were willing to change or comprehend on things. They weren’t here to just be here and look cute with a uniform but they had a purpose to prove and a point to make. The way I need to be able to do the same I got to really do research on this career to see if I really want it, how am I going to push myself to become it, and why I really choose to do this. A police officer makes about $56,260 per year or $27.05 per hour. Their job is to stop crime on around the world, but they are all separated by community except for state trooper they are a state police officers. They are to provide tickets when the law is being broken, they can testify on some cases, and some may even direct traffic when there’s too much cars or when traffic lights are broken. Most of them dress in uniform or go in disguise to get the suspect on the case or even victims. Their vehicle are also sometimes in disguise because people tend to slow down or stop what they are doing when they see a police car, so they have to go undercover to get the job done. Police officers at work make at least 40 hours per week and if they do extra they get paid more, but this job is a 24 hour job because you are sometimes working night and day shifts. Traveling is something that is also required from them because cases come from anywhere, so you have to be ready to work at all times even working outdoors in different weather conditions. Motivation! Motivation! Motivation is what I am going to need to push myself in becoming a police officer. Discouragement is something that creeps up on us daily in everything we do because we sometimes begin to think that we’re not able to do what we need to do. What I learn in this crazy world that at time you are not going to always have people around to motivate you on things or to push you to continue doing what you need to do. Self-determination is what we need because self talk is sometimes the best talk because we begin to think that we can do it without people guiding or holding our hands to keep up the good work. I realize that when I lose faith in myself other people will begin to think why help this girl if she is not willing to help her self. This is why every morning I wake up and thank God for another day and I ask him to give me the strength, understanding, and knowledge that I may go through my day in a well manner. So the goal for me is to just keep the positivity around me and avoid the negative as much as I can even if it means to drop some of my friends, family, and material things. One thing as a young adult going into college, we tend to pick our major because thats what our parents want for us, but what do we want for ourselves? We go to college wasting time and money on majors that we barely have interest in because we want to make our parents happy. I now know that it’s not what my parents want but it’s what I want for myself and is this what I want to do for the rest of my life. My parents are not the ones that are going to study and work hard for this so I have to know for myself that I really want this. From time to time I think whether I really want to be a police officer and I have decided that I really do enjoy this field because I’m the type of person that hate to see crime and people hurt. I want the crime to stop and I want to see if i can change things, at least some, to make the rates go down, but I don’t want to just stop crime but to also help change the mind of some people especially young kids even if I can open a little program to show them that police officer means good because they tend to be the one committing most of the crimes. I love when I can go about situation in a different way, when its not involving weapons or force. At times we need guidance for things we want to go in life and there’s times when we got it in a bag all we need to do is just stay focus and keep our heads held high. A police officer is what I want to be and I am sure of it because writing this essay help me realize that this is what I want and no one can change my mind. I had to be real with myself by doing a little research on this major, figuring out how I’m going to push my self to another level everyday, and to see if this is what I want to be with for the rest of my life. In the long run I’m in this for myself because no one is going to make the choices for me and no is going to suffer with the consequences that comes with this, so I have to be ready for myself and my future. I know that encouragement is going to my best friend and self motivation is going to be my mom and dad while I'm in college because there’s no more running to my real mom and dad anymore. My goal is to keep going and fix all my errors or make it better because this will help me grow better as in adult and a future peer leader.

I never really had an answer when grown-ups asked me what I wanted to be when I was little. Did I want to be a Veterinarian? Maybe, animals are awesome. Teacher? I’d rather just learn. Astronaut? I am going to be a social worker.…

Using the library resources discussed, select a product/service that you would like to write a marketing plan for. You will need to use either Mergent Online or Business Source Elite/Complete Company Profile as part of your analysis, so make sure the company is covered there before you consider it as an option. Submit a paragraph describing the selected product and including specific appropriate details on a possible new idea for that product. Include the name of the industry that the product competes in, along with the SIC or NAICS code appropriate to that product. List either Mergent or Business Source Elite/Complete as your source. Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

As a child I would always watch Miami Vice which is a show about two cops and their experiences while working as detectives in the Miami police department. Through the years I eventually started watching more tv shows about police and what they do. This always kept me on track with the ideas of being coming a police officer or working in the criminal justice department. While it is my dream to become a police officer I also have another career that interest me and that is aviation. I always thought it was cool fly on planes as a kid but I did not become interested in becoming a pilot until this summer when I had started working at Detroit metro airport. With my job as a ramp agent I am in constant contact with airplanes and the pilots that fly them. Throughout my summer I had the chance to talk to many pilots and they told me the things that I would have to do to become a pilot. With that being said I have two careers that interest me and at this moment in my life I do not know which one I like more.…

It is a residential area about three blocks from a middle school and a public library. The information you have at this time is that the subject is a 42-year-old male who is holed up in his house with his wife, son, and family friend. He has murdered his next-door neighbor and is threatening to kill those in the house if he does not get his demands. One of his demands is for immunity from the murder charge if he surrenders without harming any of the people in the house. He also wants a case of beer and some fast food soon or "something will happen".…

Unfortunately, we all are not lucky enough to get the jobs that we want, so we have to settle for what is available at the time. This is not always the case, a lot of people actually decide what they want to be, then actually accomplish their career goals. Most people, when searching for a career, usually pick something that they would enjoy, rather than something that they hate to do, but pays well.…

My educational goals and plans involve criminal justice, human services, and vet science. I went to Niacc for two years to try and get my Criminal Justice degree. I took several classes for it, but fell short of money to finish what I needed to graduate. I don't know the destined occupation in that career field that I want to do. I would be okay with any job in that career field though. I have much respect for police officers and fire fighters. I always told myself I want to be like them someday. I want to be a hero to someone. I want to go the extra…
