Later after he woke from his temporary insanity, his hands bloody, a knife lay beside him, his wife and children bleeding, his pray to the gods led him to punishment, serving twelve years for forgiveness, his twelve tasks of the far­fetched. First came the lion of impenetrable fur, then the loathsome Hydra,
Thirdly the golden horned and bronze hoofed Hind, after came the wild boar and the blessing of the wild god, next he cleaned the stables of man­eating horses, following that he drove away a flock of vicious man eating birds, then he had to control the mad Cretan bull of the gods, he fetched the cannibalistic mares of Diomedes, he stole the magic belt of the queen of the Amazons, capturing the red cattle of Geryon was a very extensive journey, his most difficult task was yet to come, he stole the apple of immortality from a hundred headed dragon, during this labour he also held up the weight of the world, and then came the last task, he had to defeat Cerberus the three headed monster. All this he did,

for forgiveness, to make good of his mistakes, forget his sorrows, he met happiness and after the tasks he was named,
Hercules the Legend and defeater of the 12 Labors.

This monomyth is called the Hero’s Journey, where a similar plot is used every time to create a story proven to be successful.
