Global Warming- is the rise in the normal temperature of the earths atmosphere and oceans

Green house gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapour, methane and nitrous oxide trap the heat from the infra red radiations of the sun and heat up the earth’s atmosphere. This has caused a rise in mean temperature of the earth’s atmosphere, causing global warming. Even though burning of fossil fuels in thermal power plants is the main source of producing green house gases, air pollution caused due to soot and diesel exhaust from road vehicles and industries is a greater contributor to global warming.

Consequences of Global warming are: * Weather Patterns changes- Warmer water in the oceans pumps more energy into tropical storms, making them stronger and potentially more destructive. Even with storms of the same intensity, future hurricanes will cause more damage as higher sea levels and flooding

* Health is affected- more frequent and severe heat waves will result in a greater number of heat-related deaths. * Wildlife is affected- Increasing global temperatures are expected to disrupt ecosystems, pushing to extinction those species that cannot adapt.

* Sea level rise- Rising global temperatures will speed the melting of the icecaps cause the sea level to rise with more water entering

The Kyoto Protocol is an amendment to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), an international treaty intended to bring countries together to reduce global warming.
The Kyoto agreement reduces Global warming by: * Putting restricting orders on their biggest polluters

* manage transportation to slow or reduce emissions from automobiles

How alternative energy reduce Global Warming: * Alternative sources such as solar energy can be used to reduce global warming because this source of energy doesn’t

Bibliography: ______________________________________ Global warming is a problem which is rapidly increasing around the world caused by green house gases. This project has ways and means to control these greenhouse effects which causes global warming. It also contains Kyoto Protocol which is a major help in decreasing these green house gases. Global warming has many ways to be reduced such as the use of alternative source of energy. The Kyoto Protocol helps in a major way to protect the earth and its people. I hope you learn ways that you can help in decreasing Global Warming. http://www.bing.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming http://www.bing.com/search?q=Global+warming&go=&qs=n&form=QBLH&pq=global+warming&sc=8-14&sp=-1&sk=

Global warming has become a heated topic over recent years as we notice more subtle changes in our environment. Some scientists even think it is a bigger problem than we can even imagine and there are many factors that play a part in global warming. So what exactly is global warming? This refers to the recent rise of Scientists are estimating a 2 to 11 degree increase of the Earth’s average surface temperature due to greenhouse gases over the next one hundred years. Most of those greenhouse gases are from human activity such as burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. Even the smallest change in warming weather can have large and potentially dangerous effects on Earth. However, global warming is only one part of climate change. Climate change is any significant change in climate over periods of time. This refers to major changes in temperature, rainfall and wind patterns, over several decades. Thus we see global warming is not something that we should be worrying about for the future. It is an issue that needs to be addressed now because it actually predates every living person today.…

Global warming is the gradual increase in the temperature of the earth's atmosphere and oceans, mostly caused by the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is where incoming short-wave solar radiation from the sun can pass through the earth’s atmosphere to reach the surface; some of this radiation is then reflected back into space at a longer wavelength. Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere absorb some of this long wave radiation and re-radiate it back to the earth’s surface, trapping heat in our atmosphere. There have always been natural fluctuations in the earth’s temperature, for the last 2.5 million years earth has shifted between cold glacial periods, and warmer interglacial periods. We are currently in an interglacial period, where the temperatures have been warm, with very small fluctuations for the last 10,000 years. Over the last century global temperatures have increased rapidly, there was a sharp rise in temperature between 1900 and 2000 of 0.7oC. Most scientists agree that this sharp increase was caused by human activities (anthropogenic). This continued increase in temperatures could have many major impacts worldwide, both positively and negatively.…

The issue of global warming has a direct effect on the lives of people all across the world. If we fail to control global warming, it can cause climate catastrophies such as mega droughts, wildfires, decimated forests, etc. It could also have a negative impact on human services since natural disasters are a huge burden on the man power and financial resources on many service agencies. We could also suffer from a tremendous loss of life for individuals throughout the world.…

Since 1979, the United Nations has been working by setting up meetings and conferences between nation-states to discuss and possibly create treaties on the issue of climate change. One of the biggest efforts was an international treaty known as the Kyoto Protocol. There are 192 countries that are party to the Kyoto Protocol and 83 have both signed and ratified it. The treaty was signed in 1997 but it did not go into effect until 2005. The UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) nations that the treaty is not applicable to are Andorra, Canada, the United States, and South Sudan.…

Firstly, global warming involves economics aspect. World economic in recently decade had great advance. Our lives are improved better. However, several industries play a key part in economic such as metallurgy, building industry, chemical industry or industries burn fossil fuel, coal, natural gas, etc are the main source of air pollution. It produces a large amount of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide which are the main component of greenhouse gases (factor causes global warming). On the contrary, global warming also affects economic. Climate change and global warming can bring a change in gross world product; it may be plus or minus a few percent. But, even small changes in gross world product can bring about comparatively large changes in national economies. The most directly affected industry is the insurance industry. A 2004 report by the Association of British Insurers noted that changing weather increases risks for households and property by 2-4% per year and the claims for storm and flood compensations in the UK had increased twofold over the period 1998-2003, weighing against the past five years. As a…

It's nearly impossible to overstate the threat of climate change. Greenhouse gas emissions are rising more rapidly than predicted and consequently the world is warming more quickly. Global warming will have catastrophic effects such as accelerating sea level rise, droughts, floods, storms and heat waves. These will impact some of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people, disrupting food production, and threatening vitally important species, habitats and ecosystems.…

I believe that the repercussions of the soaring temperature are serious and irreversible. Global warming is a problem that could have devastating long term consequences. It causes sea levels to rise everywhere, permanently flooding many low lying parts of the earth. Many geographical areas may experience reduction in crop yield due to drier and hotter condition. In particular, global warming will cause the extinction of many under water species. Also, the higher temperatures contribute to the melting of glaciers and expansion of ocean water as it heats up, both of which cause sea level to rise. Higher sea levels erode beaches, increase storm surges, lead to a loss of wetlands, and can compromise freshwater supplies by introducing saltwater. Global warming will cause destruction of whole forests due to environmental changes and forest fires, and an increase in extreme weather such as tsunamis. It will also lead to increased human illnesses and deaths. Climate change also is likely to increase the number of species that are listed as threatened or endangered.…
