    Stop Kiss

Stop Kiss by Diana Son is a play about two strangers who become friends who become lovers. This play is really intriguing to me because it is very simple and yet it is very powerful. It explores the two main character’s relationship and how it develops and how horribly people in the gay community are treated. This story upset me because it is something that could actually happen (and has happened many times). The story hooked me because of how it was written. It isn’t dense, has laughing points, is very relatable for many people, and it is a moving story about love. The way that Son structured the play is also very interesting. The scenes alternate between before the beating and after the beating. It’s really interesting how it all comes together. I couldn’t imagine an audience not feeling for these characters and connecting to their story. Even as a straight woman I am able to connect with this story. The scene that I am working on with Shannon is something that plays out in my own relationship.…

It was a Sunday morning, one of those cool brisk autumn mornings. We began our day with the usual activity, food. Avidly, we made our to the nearest IHOP and indulged in a massive barrage of pancakes. While devouring our pancakes, I observed the character traits I exhibit while I’m with her. To begin, I noticed that flirting comes naturally, almost subconsciously, in our conversations. The occasional “How do you manage to stay so pretty?” or “Your beautiful just the way you are” is a particular happening that I notice the most. Also the antics we pull were together. Playful fighting, teasing each other, or basically trying to make each other laugh is something we both enact. I find myself playing the role of boyfriend and her of girlfriend; in the sense of the way we act. Our amative nature and affectionate body language, holding hands or caressing, is existent only when I’m with my…

A new day can also liberate us from our past mistakes and provide us with a chance to change our ways. We are all faced with misery and misfortune at points in our lives, some more than others. We must recognize that it is not the burden in itself that shapes who we are, but how well or how poorly we deal with the difficulties. Sometimes misfortunes can be seen in a negative light; because it seems unjust, therefore we response in a negative matter, and become negligent to change. Overcoming tragic events is what truly counts, for we are meant to live happily and in acceptance that there are things that we cannot change. In many cases, individuals seem to feel as though they’ve lost an amount so great that they are unable to free themselves of the pain. This perspective often leads to further suffering. A Temporary Matter by Jhumpa Lahou and Kiss Me by Andrew Pyper demonstrate a loss of identity, negligence towards communication, and eventually leading to the destruction of a relationship.…

However, the impact of Korean-wave is bigger than Japan-mania. Korean-wave conquered most of the countries, especially in Asia and now spreading their wings into South America and other parts of the world. Korean-wave is successful for the melodramatic dramas, which mainly focus on love and family matters and each drama usually recorded approximately for 16 episodes. Japan’s trendy drama usually focuses on teenagers and social problems. Particularly in drama or film, Korean actors are more masculine compared to Japanese which look younger and skinnier. But both Korean and Japanese actors are good looking. Korean actresses are womanly, sophisticated and beautiful but Japanese actresses are more cute, girlish and projecting more personalities. However, Japanese actresses usually have crooked teeth.…
