Frankly, I know quite little about plants. All I know is some basic knowledge like a plant grows from a seed, then it has stems, buds, leaves and blooming flowers. Besides, plants carry out photosynthesis. They absorb carbon and produce fresh oxygen. To some extent, yes. Some plants are quite delicate and easy to die. So I just know how to plant ordinary vegetables and flowers. Generally, there are several steps. Firstly, to locate a proper position and dig a hole, then put the seed or root in, cover the hole with loosen soil. Secondly, to water the plants regularly, the last should be weeding. Of course, plenty of sunshine should be guaranteed. Yes, I once planted carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers in an organic farm. My parents rented a piece of land in the farm toplant pollution-free vegetables. That was quite memorable for me. When I put the tiny seed of the cucumber into the hole, I couldn’t imagine it grew so fast. Only 3 weeds later, the stem has spread everywhere of the trellises.

Photosynthesis is a chemical process that converts the sunlight into a chemical energy that plants store for later. Without photosynthesis, the world as we know it would not exist. All the plants would die and so would a major food and oxygen source. During Photosynthesis water is sucked up through the roots up the stem and to the leaves. The leaves take in carbon dioxide and begin to absorb sunlight. these things combine to make glucose and oxygen. The plant then uses the glucose and oxygen is expelled through the stomata of the plant as a waste product. In The leaves there are a very special pigment called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is responsible for the absorption of sunlight. Richard Martin Willstätter is the man responsible for studying these structures.…

These are the tallest trees in the world, as mentioned before, they grow, on average, about 300 feet in height, with a diameter of 40 feet. Between the forest and the seashore are the groves of Sitka spruce which, because they can withstand the harsh salt winds, act as a buffer to protect the more delicate Redwood trees. Other species of trees include tanoak, big-leaf maple, California bay, and red alder. One alternative method to traditional field-growth of crops has been shown to be very effective for centuries; this method is now called hydroponic production (Jones, 1997). Ancient Babylonian hanging gardens and Aztecan floating gardens are two examples of hydroponics from agricultural history that show the advantages of using hydroponics in an agricultural system (Jones, 1997). Hydroponic production of crops is characterized by the propagation of crops in solutions of water and nutrients; these can be used with or without the addition of a growth media to provide mechanical support to the plant’s root system (Jensen, 2007). Growing plants hydroponically provides a wide array of ecological benefits, ranging from the ability to grow plants without the need for viable cropland, to high sustainability due to extremely low emissions.…

Plants are the primary habitat for thousands of other organisms. Animals live in, on, or under plants. Plants provide shelter and safety for animals. Plants also provide a place for animals to find other food. As a habitat, plants alter the climate. On a small scale, plants provide shade, help moderate the temperature, and protect animals from the wind. On a larger scale, such as in tropical rainforests, plants actually change the rainfall patterns over large areas of the earth's surface.…
