Dough is probably one of the most important things in pizza. Without it, the pizza would just be a really weird mess. In order to make dough, you need flour, sugar, salt, and olive oil. For flour, you need to grind up wheat. The Natives in America never had grains, such as rice, barley, oats, and, of course, wheat. Meaning, we couldn't have flour for the dough. Sugar cane was brought over by the Europeans as well, meaning we couldn't have sugar. There was already salt in the Americas. However, olives were brought over by the Europeans, meaning we couldn't have olive oil without the Exchange.
