Physical Education
Why people are getting sick very easily? Many college students do not like to take exercise every day because they think the sickness is an aspect of the life. They also think no one or no thing can prevent the sickness. Some college students may think exercise is a key to open anything in the life. They think exercise have people live longer and think more carefully. In my opinion, college students should be required to take Physical Education courses for a few reasons: to have a good health and to have them focus on the harder class.
The first reason why the college students should be required to take Physical Education courses is to have a good health. The health is a key to open any door of the life, and the health is an important thing to help the college students become successful. The physical education courses are a class that can help the students to achieve a good health. For example, physical education classes required the students to run a lot; therefore, running can help students’ burn calories and get in shape. In addition the physical education classes help students not getting sick very easily in the fall or winter season.
The second reason why the college students should take Physical Education courses is to have more free time to focus on the harder classes. The physical education classes are easy classes because those classes do not have much homework like the normal class. Also, those classes make students feel relaxed, and those classes make students get out of the stress by doing some exercise. In addition, the college who takes a physical education classes can think clearly about their life and their education.
Opponents may say that the college students cannot use the knowledge of Physical Education courses in the real life. They need more time to focus on their major class. This point has some merit on the surface. However, some college students may say that the Physical education course is a great place for them to practice their social skill. In the physical education class, the students can talk and do anything they want, but in the normal class like math or English, the professor requires the students to be quiet. They need time to focus on the material in the class, so students don’t have time to communicate with their friends. In addition, the students who have a good social skill can be successful in the future.

    2. According to kinesiologist Steven Bray people who start the first year of college participate less exercise than before for different reasons. The first cause he mentions is the academic demands and the lack of organization in sports; then a bigger part is also that human beings have the tendency to look at life changes as an occasion to blow up the old rules and create new ones.…

was a classed that used to be a requirement according to the article. “In the 1920s, almost all universities required P.E. classes toward degrees.” In my opinion if a physical education class was required to receive a degree then there be a degree for it. For my final reason the article said, “But one question that gets little attention is how schools can keep big-time athletics connected to their academic objectives.” I do firmly believe a degree in athletics could help contribute to this problem if athletes connecting to their academic objective. If you want to play a sport and playing it isn’t contributing to their major why would you do both. At that point, the only thing that makes since is to drop either your classes or your sport. In my opinion that is how the situation is for most athletes at a collegiate level. With most of the situations and theories in this article I believe them to be true, but not very impactful on the decision allowing a sports degree. In conclusion, there are many reasons why sports should have a degree, and they can be compared to the fine arts in respects of having a…

Many people today have lost focus on being healthy. As soon as high school is over many people get caught up in everyday life. They are always on the go, eat out all the time, sit behind a desk all day, or go home and head straight…

When a student enters college many responsibilities are now placed on that student, not only having to make their own meals or manage enough a time for class work, but physical activity is another responsibility that a student has to make important. At a school like Cornell College, there is no such thing as physical activity for college credit, which leaves it up to the students to fulfill their needs. In the research journal, A Meta-Analysis of College Students’ Physical Activity Behaviors, a study is done to view college students’ physical activity patterns, determinants, and habits. The results of the study concluded that higher education does not influence students to become physically active adults (Keating, Guan, Pinero, & Bridges, 2005). If higher education cannot get the students to grasp the importance of physical activity, a Strength and Conditioning coach would be able to. A Strength and Conditioning coach would be put in place at Cornell not only to show students and…

When students enter college most of them leave sports behind them. These students that were used to practicing five or more times a week for hours at a time are now left with no responsibility to be active. If you put this with the hectic schedule that most college students deal with, it begins to make sense why most freshmen’s don't even make time to find the gym or set aside time to work out, let alone doing it regularly!…
