“I’ll be helping out my community, medically and through law enforcement,” said Jones, who plans to change his major to psychology and hopes to attend the UCF College of Medicine.
Jones, who graduated from the police academy program at Santa Fe College’s Kirkpatrick Center in Gainesville in June 2014.
The fourth annual event, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is part of KnightS.H.A.R.E, which stands for Students Helping Advocate Resiliency in Emergencies.
Sponsored by the UCF Office of Emergency Management, KnightS.H.A.R.E. is a week-long campaign of training courses and public outreach events focused on campus safety, violence prevention and emergency preparedness.
The expo was designed to bring attention and awareness to first responders, the life-saving services they provide and the tools they employ to ensure safety.
