Philosophy of Sport
Philosophy Paper A philosophy is any personal belief about how to live or how to deal with a situation. Everyone develops their own philosophy about a possible profession in the mid-teenage years. It is developed through past and/or current experiences interacting with experts in the area of interest as well as the level of self-understanding and personal attitude. Other ways a philosophy is developed is by values, the basis of one’s values, their effect on others, and what ones values about certain things are. I value many things that are in my life. These include family, friends, relationships, love, and compassion. I was raised in a family oriented environment with my parents, my aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Without these amazing people I would not be the person I am now. As I was growing up my family and I were never the most outgoing or social people around, so I learned to be very independent in the way I think and how I do things. I know what I think and I do not care what others have to say. I never have had a great deal of friends throughout life. Luckily I did find five amazing friends while I was in my junior and senior year of high school. Without them I would surely be lost. I value relationships and everything involved with them. I do not mess around with people’s emotions and “play” people just to get something, I search for good hearted people with good morals who are caring and looking for what I am. I try to surround myself with people like this to ensure a good life and a lifelong friendship. Sport has always been a major thing in my life ever since the age of two. My entire family is extremely athletic and has always been involved in athletics. They have taught me that winning is never the most important thing but enjoying what you are doing and who you are with is. This for me has been what I believe for most of my life and it still is. The only time that I do not apply this thought is when I am on the golf course. When it comes to

Links: com). The values that have been exhibited by professionals in my field of interest are what I mentioned earlier. I learned everything I know about the field of Business and Sport Management from my bosses. They taught me the essential details and qualities to obtain before I graduate and gain a position in a company. I would be completely lost without the guidance of my professionals and their knowledge of the Business and Sport Management field.

Philosophy at its very core refers to wisdom, learning, and the “study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline” (Merriam-Webster). Philosophies are values that we live by and create as we go throughout our lives. We can create them ourselves, adopt old ones, and modify them all the time. Chances are that if you asked someone their philosophy on life, they wouldn’t really know what to say. There are certain types of philosophy and within that are even more branches. With each branch comes more and more depth into a philosophy. Philosophies apply to our every day life, whether we think about it or not. They are a huge part of our value system and how we make decisions.…

The value that I hold most dear is appreciation. Not always did I cherish this value but a life changing experience caused me to appreciate all that I’ve been given. The life changing experience was a mission trip. In February I was given the opportunity to go to Guatemala and build very tiny houses for families who lived in the mountains. Every village we visited were different but they all had two things in common, laughter and thankfulness. I am still amazed and in awe of how the Guatemalans were filled with joy with the little that they had, they had a strong appreciation for the lives that they lived, they were simply thankful.…

Three values that are most important to me are honesty, loyalty and self-discipline. Honesty, because no one should be lied to-it hurts and is pointless, the truth will always come out in time. Also, loyalty because no one deserves to go through life alone, not able to share their secrets and struggles-we all need someone to trust wholeheartedly. Finally, I believe in self-discipline. We need to be able to push ourselves and do what needs to be done, even if it is undesirable, because ultimately no one besides you can make you do anything. X. That being said, I ensure that my spare time is only consumed by the things I truly enjoy dong.…

My name is Juan Erazo and I was born in a Cali, Colombia where soccer is the most important, viewed and practiced sport. My sport life started when I was 5, but not by playing soccer. My father was a really good basketball player. I loved watching his games along with learning his techniques during practices. He was my hero, I looked up to him and I just wanted to play basketball like he did. This was the reason I joined my first basketball team at the age of 6. The team was called “los superheroes” (in English: superheroes), so my life in basketball began. Coaches didn’t expect an ample amount of skills from me, but since I touched the ball in my first practice, they were surprised by how well I performed. I was really fast and smart with the ball, so nobody could handle me. Two months later, my team was registered in a local tournament, and due to the hard practice and dedication, we expected to win it. I used jersey number 8 because it was my father’s lucky number when he played. We beat everybody in the first round, but something unexpected happened. The semifinals were against one of the teams that we beat in the first round, but this game was totally different. They beat us and we were out of the tournament. After the game, I decided to stop playing basketball, and just go to school and get focused on my grades.…
