Philippines and Tour
Having a tour is such an excited thing. When our professor told us that we will be having a tour in Manila everyone is excited. We pursue to join the tour because we know that we will learn new things and it will be fun. When the time passes and it is already the day of our tour I am so excited. All my things are already packed up and I assure that I don’t have anything that would be left. When we arrived to our hotel in Paco Manila, we just washed up and take our breakfast. After that we proceed to our bus and go to our first destination and that is the plant of Nissin in Laguna. But before that we meet our tour guide named ate Rej. She is so joyful person. When we are in the plant we are not allowed to take some photos due to for the safeness of their company. When I saw their plant site I was so amazed because it’s too wide and it is my first time to visit a plant. We take a tour in their plant site, we saw what are the procedures in making a noodles. There were just few manpower in there company due to most of the working procedures are done by the machines. The manpower just supervises the machines. After we look the plant site we proceed to the buying area of their products. After we buy we take our lunch in mang inasal and after that we proceed to Philippine Stock Exchange. But unfortunately we are late more than an hour due to traffic and they do not accommodate us. That’s why we proceed to our next destination which is the Philippine Trade and Training Center. We got there at the exact time given to us. We have our seminar and they teach us on how to market products and how to create a product more interesting. And also, how to innovate products to more interesting new one. On our second day of our tour the other block” or bus goes to Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas while our bus goes to divisoria. This day is like our “gala day”. We buy things that we need and what we wants. But aside from buying things we look also for opportunities to us as an entrepreneurship. I saw there that I have an opportunity to build a business just like selling native products. Because their no one selling products like “abaka bag” in divisoria. We keep on walking outside the mall of 168 to look something to buy and something that will be given to our family. After buying some things we go back to our bus and we take our lunch in Eat all you can somewhere in Quezon City. After eating our lunch we proceed to ABS-CBN studio to have a tour. We have an orientation before we roomed around. But before we enter the studio we saw already Ms. Darla. After that we proceed to the studio of Umagang Kay Ganda and when we are there we saw Ms. Ai ai De las Alas. She is so beautiful. It is my first time to meet an artist. I am so shocked when I saw her. And after the UKG tour we proceed to the studio of ASAP and while we are walking we saw Ms. Korina Sanchez. As our guide said to us that the Studio of ASAP is the biggest studio there but still it is not the big what I expect in what I saw in TV. And another information that studio is the studio also of Home Sweety Home. I thought that they are taping in s real house but I was wrong. And there is many more episodes that was taken there. After that we proceed to the next studio which is the Gandang Gabi Vice. We take some pictures there. After that we proceed to the next studio which is the Bet on your Baby. When we are there they are about to remove the display because the shows was about to end. It has two studios the baby doom and the main studio for bet on your baby. Then after that we go to the studio of TV Patrol and we saw Ms. Kaye Broas. The studio was just small and another thing is that when Kuya Kim is having his weather forecast we thought that he is touching the screen but it’s not its’ just an imagination. After that we room around until one time we saw Ms. Anne Curtis and all of us were shock. She is so beautiful just like what I saw in TV. We saw also some news caster. After the studio tour we precede to the house of Big Brother it just place at the back of the studio. After that we proceed to Mall of Asia. We will have again our “gala”, just like what we did in divisoria we look for something to be given to our love ones. After walking we proceed at the back of MOA which have many rides. We ride some rides there, after strolling in MOA we go back to our hotel and take our dinner and have some rest. On the third day of our tour and the last day we stay in Manila. We check out first before we leave the hotel. After that we proceed to Laguna to have a plant visit in Jollibee and Gardenia. When we are in Jollibee plantation it is very wide. And also it is quite strict in every vehicle that entering in there company. When we are inside the plant we have first seminar then after that we proceed to the main plant. We were amazed when we saw the procedures in making the products of Jollibee. Like the bans, patties, pies and sauce of the spaghetti. It is all machines that works, and only few manpower just like the other company. After our tour we take our lunch and it is Jollibee. After we eat our lunch we proceed to the next destination which is the plantation of Gardenia. Just like the other company it is also wide plant. We take a seminar before we have our tour. After that we proceed to the plant and just like the other company it is more on machines than manpower. When we enter the plant we smell the aroma of the breads it’s so delicious. When we walk around we saw how they mix the flour using a machine, putting it in a pan, cooking it and cutting the breads. It is so beautiful place. After that we proceed to the store where we can buy some of their products. After that we go back to the bus then proceed to Tagaytay. The first place we went in Tagaytay is the Tierra De Maria. It is a chapel where it is my first time to saw the picture of Jesus by just looking in a dot. After that I pray for my family and I said sorry for all my sins. Then after that we proceed to Palace in the Sky. The view there is beautiful and I buy also some souvenirs for my family. We take some pictures in the view. It’s just like you are in Baguio. After that we go to Sky Ranch. It is an amusement park, it has so many rides and we try the Sky Eye we saw the view in Tagaytay and Batangas. It is so beautiful to see the view on top. And also we ride in Super Viking or Anchors Away. It is too scary to ride it feel like you we going to die or you were going to fall but still it so exciting to ride. After that we eat our lunch in Chowking and we say goodbye to Ms. Rej because we were going back to Bicol. I learn a lot in this tour especially when Ate Rej gave us some trivia about some buildings and monuments in Manila. Having Ate Rej in our tour was enjoyed, she is so joyful person, and she knows anything in Manila. I learn also on how make noodles. I enjoy a lot in this tour and I learn new things.

The tour, as one project, can be described in a project life cycle way (see Figure 1, Project Life Cycle adapted from Project Planning and Management 2013). The first stage is defining the tour destination and agreement or contract of the tour. And then the planning stage is about the cost, timing budgets and finding the useful resources during the trip such as accommodation and food provided. In addition, identified the possible risk and how to solve. The most important stage is executing stage, when the tour really sets out. The Adventures Unlimited, as the project manager, has to see whether the tour is ‘on schedule, on budget and meeting specification’ (Larson and Gray 2011, p.8). Upon reflection, the tour manager should decide what changes are necessary, that is to say, how the changes during the tour possibly occur and how to fix it. The final stage, also called closing stage, includes delivering the tour experiences, redeploying the resources available and the post- project review. These three activities help the accessibility evaluation and to capture the lessons learned.…

The day before our apostolate, together with my classmates, we planned and prepared all the things that we needed like the food, the prices, the tokens, the exercises, the games. On the day of our Apostolate, Jasper and I were assigned to be the emcee. When we reached Bahay Pag-Ibig, we started the program with a prayer and asked for God’s guidance, the prayer was led by Carmel Abeleda. After the prayer, we introduced ourselves and presented our winning piece. We also asked the lolo’s and lola’s to join us in the exercise. It was very nice to see the lolo’s and lola’s that they were trying their best to do exercise. After a few minutes, I interviewed a lola. She was apologizing because she can hardly speak because according to her she had stroke. I asked her why is she in Bahay Pag-ibig, she told me that her son had drugs while his husband left her. Before she was in Baguio, but the institution in Baguio sent her in Bahay Pag-Ibig. When it’s lunch time, I fed a lola who can’t walk and can’t eat by herself. She told me not to give her vegetables anymore because she can’t chew them properly. After that I went back to the lola I interviewed, she showed me her bed and to my surprise she has a lot of books and reading is her hobby especially they don’t have any television in their room. So reading is the only way to kill her boredom. When we were about to leave, I felt sad. I felt sad because I saw in the eyes of those lolo’s and lola’s that they don’t want us to leave or they want us to come back. I felt like we were like their families who just left them there and did nothing. I suddenly thought of my future, I asked myself, if one day will my son or daughter or my family bring me in this kind of place when I’m old? When I can’t walk by myself or when I can’t eat by myself. For short are they willing to take good care of me when I am old?…

We’re on a mission to look for the places that were named after the characters of Rizal in his novels Noli Me tangere and El Filibusterismo. My groupmates and I arrived at PUP before 9am; we rode PNR to get to our starting point which is Laong Laan station. We are really excited for this fun-filled day. We are very happy when we saw the street named ‘Basilio’, we had different poses for the first set of pictures that we took there. Luckily we also found the next three streets, ‘Sisa, Ibarra and Crisostomo’ simultaneously. We took another set of pictures and then go to the next location which is ‘Tacio’, unfortunately we got lost and so we asked some bystanders there and we used the map we printed, then we were able to found ‘Tacio, Macaraig and Padre Florentino’. Then we walked again and asked for other streets and they suggested ‘Josefiina’ and so we also took pictures there. When we were about to get to our next station, we caught up with our other classmates, the BBS group and held a picture taking moment, then parted ways. It is hot already and ‘Maria Clara st. is far from our current location, so we decided to ride a tricycle. When we were able to found ‘Maria Clara st.’, we had our refreshments first and ate chips to satisfy our hunger. Then we walked again to our next destination which is ‘Simoun st.’ and walked again to ‘Elias st.’. Since SM San Lazaro is near, we decided to go there and have our lunch as well. We stayed there for awhile then agreed to go home. Even though it’s very hot, exhausting and tiring, we’re very happy because we enjoyed our last bonding before year 2012 ends and we consider it as one of our unforgettable memory. Mission Accomplished!…

Before we start our practicum, we had first our orientation. The mission and vision, rules and responsibilities and other informations about the company were taught to us. I was assigned in PAL Gate 3 in Nichols, Pasay City. My bosses are Sir Gerry Rustia and Ma’am Crissy Garces. My practicum hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm. We give advisories to the flight attendants and flight stewards. We have our shifting time of giving those advisories. Most of the time we have nothing to do, sometimes no work is given to us. After two weeks of having my practicum in PAL Gate 3, my bosses assigned me in PAL Learning Center in Padre Faura. PAL Learning Center is a company that trains the flight attendants and flight stewards in boarding and departure. They also give them written examinations. My new bosses are Ma’am Winnie and Sir Louigie. They are so kind and approachable. I really felt so comfortable working with them. I met Nadine, Roanne and Tin who are also having their practicum there. Nadine and Roanne are CSB students also while Tin is a student from La Salle Das Mariňas. I can say that I am happier in PAL Learning Center. Here, I was really able to experience working. We have a lot of works to do but I find it enjoyable. Our bosses treat us as their friends. They ask us about the happenings in our lives and they also share their stories.…

Our tour held at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, our guide discuss to us the rules and regulations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Taking photos during the tour is not allowed, loitering, and noise are just some of the reminders that our tour guide told us. As we continue the tour I saw different portrait on the wall, and our tour guide said something about those portraits. Some of the portraits are the New generation money, etc. Our first area that we visited was the Passport Production Area. Were I didn’t expect that Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas also makes certificates and passports. SHEET INSPECTION AREA was our second destinations were we saw many BSP staffs inspect lots of sheets of money. We also went to SIMULTAN AREA were paper money were being cut into its proper shape and size and next to the INTAGLIO AREA, were different security codes are printed in paper money. We also visited to the NUMBERING AREA were the letters and numbers were being design in the money so that it can also be a feature of money. The last area in making paper money was the FINISHING AREA were finalization of the paper money was conducted. After we finished our tour in the areas of making the paper money, we went next to the areas of making the coins. We just passed by to the GOLD REFINERY DISPLAY ROOM were the gold’s are being kept. As we continue walking we arrive to the MELTING/CASTING AREA were gold’s are being melt for the purpose of making Philippine coins. But when we were in that area, we just saw only the machines, no staffs working. Simply no work, because of lack of gold’s. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas had no reserved gold because mining troops doesn’t want to sell gold’s for the BSP for the rate of the tax increases. We go to STAMPING AREA. Our tour in the areas of making coins ended at the BAGGING AREA of the Philippine coins. After having the tour, we purchased souvenirs from the BSP shop. We visited…
