ENGLISH 2 Lesson Plan

Teacher: Jay-an T. Cagampang January 26, 2011
Grade and Section: II – Chestnut

I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students in Grade 2 are expected to: 1. give a possible ending to a situation(s) and/or story heard; 2. give events that could happen next; and 3. write a different story ending to a story read or heard.

II. Subject Matter A. Listening: The Wind and the Sun B. Speaking: Rhyming Words C. Reading: The First Moon and Stars D. Writing: Writing of a different story ending to the story read/heard.

MATERIALS: A. Fun in English 2 Textbook, pages 237 to 250 B. Pictures of: ✓ Starry and moonlit sky ✓ King, and Princess ✓ A man tightly holding his coat shivering in the cold and a man removing his clothes, sweating due to the heat of the sun.

III. Learning Experiences A. Motivation: 1. Ask the pupils: “Which do you think is stronger, the wind or the sun?” 2. The teacher will then read the story entitled “The Wind and the Sun”. Moral of the story: Everything has its own purpose. There are things which some people can do but they also cannot do things that others can do. So, one should not brag about what s/he can do.

B. Lesson Proper: 1. Ask the pupils: “Have you ever read about the origin or beginning of the first stars and moon?” 2. Show pictures of princess, king, crown, treasure, and diamonds. 3. Let the pupils read the story entitled “The First Moon and Stars” individually or by group. 4. Ask the pupils: ✓ “Who were King Salimuot and Princess Innas? What was King Salimuot’s dream in life? In what way could princess Imnas help her father? Who came to offer gifts? What
