Philadelphia Eagles Case Study
This season, the Philadelphia Eagles issues at wide receiver were well-documented. From Nelson Agholor dropping passes and Dorial Green-Beckham not seeing the field as much and reportedly valuing the Philadelphia nightlife over football, it left Jordan Matthews being the only consistent option for quarterback Carson Wentz.

With that being known, there have been rumors floating around about a possible reunion with former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson in free agency as he would provide them a deep threat on the outside.

However, when free agency kicks off on March 9, the Eagles plan to target another speedy wide receiver to help remedy their problems. According to Eliot Shorr-Parks, the Eagles are expected to make a push for Miami Dolphins

Whatever they choose to do, the four year veteran is versatile enough to use in multiple areas. Collins was acquired to fill the void left by the release of Paul Kruger and Nate Orchard going on injured reserve. The Pro Bowler has great awareness and coverage skills. My case study was the concussion crisis in the NFL. I believe the ethical moment was when Mike Webster died and it was discovered the he had CTE. At this moment when the connection between football the CTE was first proposed, that was the moment that action needed to be taken. Due to the NFL taking a defensive or denial approach many more players suffered and feared of having or possibly having CTE. I believe I would have made a public statement, the reason for the NFL to not make an official release was money driven. While it would have been difficult, a pay check and reputation is not worth more than a person’s…

The Dallas Cowboys finished last year season with a 12-4 record. Almost coming out of Training Camp without any major injuries to a key player’s defensive back Orlando Scandrick tore his ACL/MCL last week. Scandrick is out for the season. Even though losing Scandrick is tough I still believe the Cowboys will be fine because they have depth at the defensive back position, and upgrading the pass rush which the defensive backs won’t have to cover wide-receivers for so long. With the additions of Greg Hardy, Byron Jones, Randy Gregory, Corey White, DeMarcus Lawrence developing his body into becoming a force at the left end, defensive position, and Tyrone Crawford is looking to have a Pro Bowl Caliber year the Cowboys finally have depth at the defensive…

February 7th, 2010. Super Bowl XLIV. Four years post Hurricane Katrina. As smoke cleared from “The Who” halftime concert, Thomas Morstead, the kicker for the New Orleans Saints, set to kick the ball off to the Indianapolis Colts to start the third quarter. With the Saints down 10 to 6, and Indianapolis’s Chad Simpson standing in his own end zone ready to return the kick off, Saints Head Coach, Sean Payton, called one of the gutsiest plays in the super bowl era of football. Thomas Morstead standing at his own 30 yard line executed the only on-side kick before the fourth quarter in NFL history. The ball traveled 15 yards before being touched by Hank Basket, an Indianapolis Colts player, who could not make a clean recovery. The ball ended up at the bottom of a pile of bodies all fighting for it. It took over a minute for the officials to clear bodies out of the pile and determine who definitively recovered the on-side kick. Chris Reis, a safety for the New Orleans Saints, came out of the pile victorious. The Saints would subsequently score a touchdown, taking their first lead of the game.…

Louis Rams despite his considerable character issues; several teams with higher picks declared they passed on him because of his off-the-field troubles. Phillips played the 1996 and part of the 1997 seasons with the Rams before refusing to show for a team meeting and practice in a dispute with coach Dick Vermeil over playing time in November 1997. The Rams cut Phillips in 1997..Phillips is arguably one of the biggest draft day blunders in NFL history, the Rams thought so highly of him that the team traded his predecessor, Jerome Bettis, to the Pittsburgh Steelers immediately after drafting Phillips, a trade that would later prove beneficial to the Steelers. After the Rams he played two games with the Miami Dolphins before being cut. He later played for the 49ers, CFL, AFL, and NFL Europe. His lone career highlight is an infamous one as he missed a crucial block on all-pro cornerback Aeneas Williams who proceeded to knock out Steve Young during a Monday Night Football game against the Arizona Cardinals. This injury would lead to the end of Young's career. Phillips had one run-in with the law after another after his playing career was over, none worse than the one that sent him to prison last December for attacking his girlfriend and driving his car into three teens. He is currently serving a 31 year prison…

Football is a very fun sport that invalves tackling, pushing, and hitting. Most of the time football is fun just from playing ruff (tackling, pushing, hitting). Kids who play football are always to play games like bull in the ring and oklahoma drills which are very contact drills, and so is football. Now, coaches are thinking about having a limited number of hits in practice. But most players disagree with that statement because football is all about hitting. If they use limited number of hits, then they will take away the fun out of football.…

American football as we know it originated from rugby played in Britain in the mid-19th century. The person who Americans consider the “Father of American Football” is Walter Camp. Professional football can be traced back to 1982, when there was a $500 contract for the Allegheny Athletic Association and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club to play a game against each other. Originally football was primarily a sport of the Midwestern industrial towns in the United State. In 1902, the American Professional Football Association was formed and two years later the National Football League. The competition was fierce between the two leagues, which led the two leagues to merge. Football eventually became national. When the two leagues merged is when…
