Political
Government of Malaysia had set rules and several regulation to obtain halal license, under Shariah law. It is necessary to have that license in order to attract malay customer. In addition, the license which is used to govern the operation of business is set up in order to protect the buyers and the sellers.
Economy
Economics in Malaysia is expected to grow from 2011 to 2014 according to the Economist Intelligence Unit. The real gross domestic product is expected to reach an average of 4.9% per year by market forecaster (refer appendix). As we can see the economy prospers, it will have guarantee of better buying power. Thus, consumer ‘wants’ plus ‘buying power’ and it formed a demand in market.
Socio-Cultural
According to population growth rate in Klang Valley, we believe it will continuously increase as there are more youngster coming to city to worker. There are approximately 7.2 million population in 2012, 27% of the population from the age group of 0-15 years old, and 67% are of the working age group of 15-59 years old and 6% are of 60 years old and above. The statistic of Malaysian Online Shopping from International Data Corporation Malaysia shows that the amount of internet buyers in 2008 has increased from 7.4 million to 10.5 million in 2012. Moreover, we find out that 88.8% of the internet buyers are from the age group of 21-50 years old. The number of working parents is also increasing drastically, as the living cost is increasing. We believe the service we offer will be favorable to working parents and busy people.
Technological
With current advance technology, apps can be written to make the purchasing method easy and efficient. In this technology era, most of the people have knowledge of using internet to do online purchasing, and 8.2mil of smart phone user in Malaysia.
