Persuasive Speech Trophy Hunting
Hello and good afternoon. You’re probably wondering about the topic that I am here to discuss about today. I'm here to inform you about the dangers of trophy hunting.

Just what exactly are the dangers of hunting you may wonder? Let's about it for a moment. Close your eyes, and paint a vivid image in your head, visualize that you are a trophy hunter, who has just paid over $37,000 for an opportunity to elephant hunt in South Africa, and you are seeking out the oldest, most mature elephant, which is typically a male with the largest body size and largest tusks for your trophy. It's a little after 2:30pm, your preferences are walking and stalking, hunting from blinds or special vantage points from which you can observe and ambush your selected animal. After about 6 hours of waiting you hear a low trumpeting and the breaking of branches, as you move closer, you see the elephant eating. The elephant is in your view point as you raise your .416 rigby, when suddenly the elephant turns around and bolts at you. You’re only able get one shot at it but it didn't have much of an effect and you were crushed by the elephant . That's what happened to a man named Ian. He was hunting a bull elephant, and in the process, was killed. His story is as told: “They eventually caught up to the bull, spotting him at about 50-100 meters. The bull instantly turned and began a full charge. Ian and Robert began shouting in order to stop the charge. At very close range, Ian was able to get off one shot before the bull killed

Why not just donate the money into conservation for more protection against poachers and educate the locals, and the people who buy poached animals parts within these markets? Why not do these things rather than pretend you have to hunt the species to protect it. If you truly care then just donate and help as much as you can for their

Doctoral student in molecular and cellular biosciences at Wake Forest University and member of the African Nzou clan, Goodwell Nzou, in his opinion contribution to the New York Times, effectively claims that trophy hunting is not as bad as Americans are making it out to be. First, he supports this claim by asserting that lions are considered killers in African villages. Nzou uses cause and effect to appeal to pathos when stating, “When I was 9 years old, a solitary lion prowled villages near my home. After it killed a few chickens, some goats and finally a cow, we were warned to walk to school in groups and stop playing outside. My sisters no longer went alone to the river to collect water or wash dishes; my mother waited for my father and older brothers, armed with machetes, axes and spears, to…

I am against the big game trophy hunting for many reasons supported by quotes from articles about the story, TMDG. Something so small and harmless may be thought as just a hobby, but in the end, it is a hobby that affects way more. Animals and humans can both receive harm when people hunt; especially when it involves many deaths and drastic changes in someone's life. Throughout the articles I read, I found that big game trophy hunting is quite dangerous; adding to my original thought about being against it.…

You’re driving home from a movie with your best friends and you’re doing about 60 on a country road you’ve known all your life. All of a sudden, out of your peripheral view, you see a couple of deer heading straight for your cars path. You hit the brake to try to avoid them and narrowly miss. You think to yourself how lucky you are that you didn’t hit one. What you didn’t know is the couple of deer you saw used to be a pack of 4 deer. A week earlier, two different hunters each took a deer from that herd. If it wasn’t for the hunters, you probably would’ve hit at least one deer. Deer hunting isn’t as bad as it is portrayed to be! Hunting controls the deer population and along with predator population and the number of accidents involving deer decrease because of good ethical hunting.…

What is the first thing that pops in your head when you think about hunting? What is the first thing that comes to your head when you think about hunters? Well the first thing that pops into my head when I think about hunting is being out in God’s beautiful creation and pursuing big game with my bow. Now when I think about a hunter I immediately think of someone or something pursuing an animal to harvest it. Let's take a walk through my neck of the woods while I bring forth this matter.…

poaching, of course, is considered morally wrong as well as illegal. makes sense; it is just plain wrong, and against the law. trespassing; another issue that is, again, ethically wrong as well as against the law. trespassing has become more of a problem, especially of late, but that has likely got most to do with trophy-hunting and the bad rap that the hunting society is tagged with as whole. modern phase of trophy hunting started around the 1970’s, when the population in the United States and Canada surged, or increased dramatically. Numbers soaring into the stratosphere, and the population, in many places, being higher than most had ever seen, hunting for masses of people just got to the point where it was plain simple easy; too easy.(Ranta, 3) Since letting the meat of an animal go to waste is illegal, anyone who does, trophy hunter or not, is committing a serious offense. Poaching is hunting before or after hours in season, as well as out of season; from the roadside, through the window of a vehicle, across the road, etcetera. Six different seasons for deer hunting alone, some of which have been recently added to help control the already out of control deer population, at least in the state of indiana. Hunting hours, no matter what season it is, are and have been, as set by the Department of Natural Resources for Indiana, in the state of Indiana, a half hour before sunrise to a half hour after sunset. The six seasons are Archery(Bow), firearms, Muzzleloader, reduction zone, antlerless/doe, and youth. The recently added seasons are Reduction zone(Urban bow/crossbow), special antlerless/doe, youth;these seasons were added to help reduce the deer population, in the state of indiana, which ranks as one of the highest for deer/car collisions in the U.S. The reduction zone(s) season is, this…

Public debates about trophy hunting often centers on the question of the morality of recreational hunting or the extent to which the money paid by sportsmen seeking a trophy animal provides a conservation benefit to the overall population of game animals and the rural economies where the game is hunted. Bears, cougars, deer, foxes, and other animals who are chased, trapped, and even killed by dogs during hunts are not the only ones to suffer from this variant of the “sport.” Hunting for fun destroys property and injure or kill horses, cows, dogs, cats, hikers, and other hunters (Trophy…

Is hunting ethical? As a hunter myself, growing up in a family of hunters, I never answered the question correctly. When asked the question “is hunting ethical?” I would rattle off information and statistics about wildlife population control and the environmental information gathered by hunters, but I seemed to be missing the point completely. As it was recently pointed out, it was like I was being asked what time it was, and answering the date. I wasn’t incorrect; rather, I was just answering the wrong question. Instead, I needed to look at what the actual question was; is the act of hunting ethical, and if not, what are we doing to prevent the mistreatment of animals?…

Imagine that you trained all your life for that special moment of playing in your first NHL game. At the beginning of your first shift in the game suddenly another player’s stick comes up and strikes you in the eye. This incident ends your career. This could have been prevented if you wore a visor. I think visors should be mandatory in the NHL in order to improve a player’s safety. Statistics have proven players who wear visors in the NHL play less aggressive. There are many incidents involving sticks and pucks going into player’s faces. A recent incident occurred between Philadelphia’s Chris Pronger and Toronto’s Mikhail Grabovski. Furthermore, two years ago a former NHL player Brad May, Gave a speech supporting the use of visors.…
