Persuasive Essay School Lunch
Persuasive essay
Yum, yum; another school lunch… While some of our foods are “out of this world”, we sometimes find nasty “here on earth” human hairs in our foods! My friends and I find this disgusting! It makes the school look bad, and it’s very unhealthy, and could cause a job loss for our lunch ladies.
Who wants to give any kind of an award or recognition to a school with problems like these? While my school shines bright with our great teachers, our past Taks test scores, no one can ignore the thought of perhaps finding a hair in their food. I certainly don’t appreciate people thinking bad thoughts about the school that I attend just because of a few careless adults. Having these problems with school lunches makes our school not nice at all.
No student wants to eat food that has hair in it. First of all, it is extremely bad for us. A human hair is a foreign object in your body that should not be there, and should not be consumed; whether by accident or just not recognized it. Our school boasts that they should serve students a healthy, nutritious mean each and every school day. Well, hairs are hardly healthy, and our school could get into major trouble for serving us unsanitary food. If my school really wants to nourish us, they should be very careful in what they do and when they cook the food. Even though hairnets have been used, the hair still keeps appearing. They just need to be more careful to save us, and

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

Everyday, kids go to school and hope that the food that what they are getting today from the cafeteria is good. In reality, they are met with sickening and repulsive food that even the wretched sight of it makes them vomit. To fix this problem, schools should include more delectable foods that are healthy and delicious to students. Even though some may argue that having healthy food and drinks at school is good, in reality, many students do not even end up eating it or they feel exhausted for the reason that vegetables do not fill a student’s stomach.…

The state of school lunches has been a point of debate for many since Michelle Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act signed into law December of 2010, giving full authority to the USDA in setting the nutritional standards for all foods regularly sold in school lunch lines, stores, and vending machines. The law was set to provide additional funding to meet the updated standards, however, the cost was severely underestimated. Using data provided by Medicaid, eligibility for the free or reduced school lunch programs has seen a definite increase, although participation has not (Lee, 2010). In a press release, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius was quoted saying “The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is a significant step forward in our effort to help America's children thrive and grow to be healthy adults... By increasing the number of students eligible to enroll in school meal programs and improving the quality of food served, this legislation simultaneously tackles both hunger and the obesity levels currently affecting too many communities across this nation.” I would like to draw attention to her careful wording of “...step forward in our effort...” A subject as incredibly important as the nutrition of…

The subject matter selected is should changes be made to the regulations for foods that were served in public schools. This issue is selected because of two reasons, first, and education is the base of progress on each level, whether it is on an individual, social, economic or at national level(s). The second intention is the government has opened public schools to provide education at minimum or no cost to the students. And they also make available free or low-cost meal to them to make sure that they get the least possible calories to have a healthy body and sound mind. The food served is usually not of an excellence…

Now what make’s her think that she can just but in like the way she already has? Well the fact is, is that she wants kids to be more healthy so instead of giving us a normal amount of food which most middle schoolers eat a lot of she decided that she would make us healthier and cut that in half. When students buy their lunch in a typical cafeteria, they expect decent, put together meals. Students usually see long lunch lines, hear loud talking, and eat fatty and disgusting food. In the lunch rooms I see unhealthy nasty food that everyone eats every single day. I have seen chili that smells like dog poop, nacho cheese that looks like barbeque sauce that got mixed in. Also the burritos tastes like vomit which was as hard as a rock. School cafeterias need to make more edible food and provide a healthier and more delicious variety of food.…

Have you ever received a school lunch, looked at it, and wondered, “What in the world is that”? Of course you have, that’s what school lunches are known for. I can recall numerous times when I couldn’t tell what kind of slime was jiggling on my lunch tray; was it the Macaroni and Cheese slime or was it the Nacho’s slime? School lunches really put the “sloppy” in Sloppy Joes and students shouldn’t be served such food at school. Schools are supposed to promote healthy, successful lifestyles, but how are they supposed to accomplish that when their school lunches are so unsuccessful and unhealthy? Serving healthier lunches in schools will benefit many aspects of a student’s life in the classroom and outside of the classroom as well. The government needs to mandate healthier lunches in schools to develop healthier eating habits in children, meet parent’s expectations, and to increase classroom performance.…
