Lowering the Voting Age
Do you wish that we would get a teen’s input on world events sometimes? What about getting them to vote? It’s their world too, shouldn’t they get to show what they want for our country? I mean they are still getting educated at school about world events. I believe that they should lower the voting age to 13.
First of all, most of the teens in school are mature enough to truthfully vote who should be president. Evidence shows that when you vote at a younger age you are more likely to keep voting and supporting the country. In the U.S there are approximately 15 states that have already lowered the voting age. All of them have had goods results and comebacks with those younger residents voting. Some people may counter this and say that students will just pick the name on the ballot that sounds or looks appealing. My response to that is that thirteen year olds are in school still being educated about electors and their plans as future president. So they educate us to go vote and be educated voters.
Also, lowering the voting age would allow youth to show what they know in the outside world. With showing what we know, the schools could get good credit for the education that the students get. Other elders may argue and say that the government already knows what the students are learning since they come up with the …show more content…
We are the next generation that will be living in the country and passing it on. From the internet it states that lowering the voting age would allow them to vote on their own before moving out and living on their own. Some may disagree and say that parents and grandparents are listening a lot about what goes on to know about every event that teens won’t know. I counter and say that teachers are adults too and will listen and hear about what happens, but they share what they find out with their students so they learn about it
