Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Abortion
Francine Rivers once said, “Life is precious in God’s sight. All life; black, brown, yellow, red, and white from the womb to the grave and beyond.” Since abortion was legalized, back in 1973, millions of abortions are performed in the United States every year. There are cases in which the mother carrying the child has been sexually assaulted or raped, but 98% of the abortions committed a year, in the US, are procured for mere convenience. The legalization of abortion should be abolished due to the fact the baby’s life begins at conception, millions of lives are taken when there are other alternatives.

In the United States alone, there are about 1.3 million abortions a year, which is equivalent to 3,562 abortions a day. Plus, on average, 50% of women now seeking abortion have had at least one previous abortion. Not only that, but approximately ⅓ of American women have had an abortion by the age of 45. Millions of babies’ lives have been taken over the course of time. Since the legalization, 55,772,015 abortions that have destroyed the lives of unborn children.
There are other alternatives than abortion, such as adoption. There are about 2 million couples currently waiting to adopt in the US, which means there is about 36 couples willing to adopt one child. This includes women who are unable to bare children. About 10% of women in the United States, 6.1 million, have difficulty getting or staying pregnant. These women are among those who are waiting to adopt a child while millions are killing theirs.
The law legalizing abortion should be put to an end. The lives of an unborn child should no longer be at risk even by the thought of abortion. “All men are created equal,” all men, born or unborn.
